To celebrate the Urban Sketchers 10th Anniversary, Apple retail stores will offer free “Sketch Walks” and drawing/sketching classes.

The sketch walks will take place on Nov 30 at Apple Sores worldwide. Participants (aspiring artists) should wear comfortable shoes. You’ll learn to draw, sketch, and paint in the classes. Bring your iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.

Check out article with links for the sketch walk and class schedules and locations. https://www.macrumors.com/2017/11/27/apple-store-ipad-pro-sketch-walks/

The 1-1/2 hour sketch walk for architectural sketching techniques looks interesting. The description says:

“Explore how to use iPad Pro and Apple Pencil as powerful tools to transform the way you sketch architecture. Using the Morpholio Trace app, you’ll discover features like augmented reality to show perspective grids for overlays, and stencils for adding trees and figures to give your architectural drawing depth. Devices will be provided. Designed for all skill levels.”

Sounds like a pleasant idea, but in reality, all but two of the apple stores I’ve ever been to has been in a giant mall with a massive parking lot around it, surrounded by streets with lots of chain restaurants on them. Not exactly inspiring scenes.

Probably why they're only offering them at select Apple Stores. There are two here in the Milwaukee Area - The Mayfair one is a mall similar to what you described, but the Bayshore Mall (outdoor mall) is nice to walk around and has a decent neighborhood for sketching. There are a couple in Chicago that would be neat.
