I’ve had mine for a week, no issues at all. I got it with nano texture display and VESA mount to replace my 49” UW monitor. It also replaced my Homepod stereo paired speakers. I have so much free desk space now!

The resolution and brightness are top notch. The audio is great. I was surprised by how good the bass is. I used the camera and speakers for meetings, and no one complained about my audio or video so I guess they were fine.

I also added a belkin usb-c to ethernet adapter , which works fine as well.

I thought that I would miss the ultrawide display’s real estatw but I don’t. I should mention that I use my Macbook Pro positioned just below the ASD , but I’ve always done that.

I have not experienced the buzzing noise that another poster mentioned.

Do you get full gigabit speeds on your Ethernet adaptor?

Can't get the camera to work with my M1 Max running Sequoia, but really don't want to upgrade it to Tahoe.

I asked this in another thread but do people buy the height adjustable one to increase the height mostly?

I’ve just got the tilt only and it’s much higher than my old Dell. If anything I’d lower the height!

Does everything else work? Would love to get your impressions on running it with Sequoia.
Everything else works just peachy, although I can't say it seems any different than the previous Studio display. I just needed a second one.

Turns out the studio display camera only doesn't work in clamshell mode, and its a known software issue (which could be resolved by upgrading to Tahoe, but which I still don't want to do).

Do you notice a big webcam difference, as in better quality in your 26 Studio Display compared to your older one?

I haven’t compared them side by side. But when I’ve used the old one I’ve never thought “that looks sharp” and when I use the 2026 I do.

Thats the assumption I have based on the information I could gather. It surprised me as well as I expected it would allow me to go lower (still on a thunderbolt display).

I found a Reddit thread where someone had posted pictures of how low the height adjustable ASD can go vs the tilt only. The Tilt's lowest point is lower than the lowest point of the height adjustable 😮

Still finding the ASD a little too high, on day 2. I'll get used to it, I guess. Maybe it's a more correct height for posture, but I much prefer looking downwards, rather than upwards, which I am now with the top half of the display.

Aside from that; web cam is brilliant, up there with how good my iPhone 16 Pro looked with continuity camera. Speakers are great (not outstanding, just a nice to have feature). Mic is great.

Can't get over how good the display actually is though. So punchy in colours, super sharp, bright, darks and whites look good to me and I'm an OLED freak with TVs. Yes not true black, but I'm not watching movies on this thing at my desk!

For work, it's 10/10.

I do spot the odd reflection here and there though. Window is to my side, not behind. I can literally see the light hitting the edge of the door which is behind me.

EDIT: One other silly thing I didn't realise would happen is that the resolution is lower than my previous Dell monitor. I had a 24" 1440p display, so it would show everything smaller, text smaller etc.

This ASD shows everything bigger (my tech language on this is poor, I know). Text is larger on the ASD vs my old 1440p Dell.

So, I've actually not gained more space by going up to 27". And yes, I know I can make things smaller in the settings if needed 🙂

First time Apple Studio owner here. So far so good but had a question regarding resolutions in display settings. I have to make text larger to make UI usable. In display settings it shows 1920x1080 resolution. So am I gaining the benefits of using a 5k display?? Hope so.
Also tested speakers and to me they have too much bass. Is there a way to adjust the bass and/or treble settings?
Thanks for any help/comments.
I'm sorry you're unhappy with the sound quality, but you just sold me on the "too much bass" remark. I'm a bass-head so I'm even more excited now!

Sounds like you're going to be extremely happy with it.

"The best display I've ever had by far not close" is pretty much what we should be hearing from new owners, and if not, that's why we're here.

All at once I refreshed my entire space with some Twelve South accessories that were on sale, and a automatic sit/stand desk for fairly cheap at Walmart ($85) and it isn't like SUPER stable but a decent desk I think for the price especially for how much a lot of the better quality ones go for.

But I digress, this might sound corny but ever since I was getting ready to go into college I always wanted an Apple Studio (and then Cinema) Display, and loved using them in the design labs in my colleges art building. I hadn't honestly really used another monitor to much before this and boy is it a game changing monitor for me.

To me, it was almost like buying another computer. The camera quality while technically may be worse than say my phone's back cameras, especially when maximized, I have used it for Zoom, Discord, and FaceTime, switching between the two, and unnamiously everyone likes the quality of the display camera better. I do think it is doing some "glamifying" a bit, as my blue eyes are like a striking blue when using it, the imperfections in my face seem a little smoothed out, and my hair seems to appear slightly brighter but I'm not complaining.

The sound from the speakers is as far as I am aware, the best sound I've ever heard out of an Apple computer or monitor ever, although sometimes it can have a tad to much bass, but incredibly impressive room filling sound.

The screen itself is just so much man. I love it. In some ways depending on your workflow, I'd argue it's like having 4 monitors in one, otherwise it's very good with two apps open. It is incredibly bright, crisp, vivid, and makes my 65' Sony 4KTV ("HDR" capable) and my MBP monitor look like crap in comparison. While Apple claims it doesn't have any actual HDR, 600nits technically gets you certain grades of it, and it is noticeable to an extent, specifically if you are watching a video on YouTube.

The build quality is out of control. It's a hefty boy with an incredibly thick stand, and it's pretty thick overall. Pretty sure if I threw this hard enough at someone they'd die upon impact. It just feels super premium, all the way to the unboxing experience.

Also, I think Apple is sort of lying about what the A19 inside is doing, I suspect besides being the controller for the ports on the back, the Spatial Audio, and the camera its at least doing some of the lifting to make this display pixels. It's hard to really put into words other than my Mac feels a little...faster? Maybe it is a placebo effect. Which also it is great to have 2 Thunderbolt 5 ports in the back, as I feel it helps future proof it for when I upgrade my Mac and perhaps get a second monitor in the future, and no more wires all over the place just a single wire going to the wall, with a super thick (like almost slim Jim thick) $70 Thunderbolt cable (included) going from the Mac the monitor.

If I had any gripes so far it would be these:
-I have a 2 bedroom apartment. If I say "Hey Siri" in my Kitchen this thing for some reason can hear it all the way across the apartment in the other room and will take whatever Im asking away from my phone in some instances. Seems to be more of a how Siri works problem.

-It doesn't come with the polishing cloth. I mean the cloth is nice, but it's not nice enough not to include it especially how expensive it is.

-No Apple stickers 🙁 (Yeah I know)

Also another tip don't pay full price. I got this the first Tuesday it was out after it was announced from the Apple Store, and I guess just by talking to the guy he gave me the student discount just for the heck of it so I got like $160 off.

I hope this helps, and I hope you get one and enjoy it as much as I have. Giving it a 9.9/10!

Haha, to the guy above, the camera is one of the big reasons why I'm preferring the ASD camera too.

I was using continuity camera with my iPhone 16 Pro and on two occasions I had someone say "wow your camera is really sharp". That irked me a little! I don't want to be in 4K on a video all for clients.

Normal 1080p will do, thanks 😆

When people say things like that on video calls - being interested in psychology as I am - it makes me wonder... I'd probably say that if I was a little distracted or taken aback.

So, I'm loving the normal ASD camera, sound and microphone. Although for some weird reason, I noticed my AirPods had a higher microphone input volume level, almost near the top end, so I've reduced those now and slightly increased the ASD mic level, as it felt a little quiet.

Can sort of notice some reflections behind me sometimes though. Not bad at all, just never had that before with typical monitors.

After using this some more I'm liking it more and more. I removed the Logitech speakers I had connected and moved those to my Linux box so now only using the built in speakers. I also got a kick out of making phone calls from my Mac mini and ASD. It was soo cool !!
I am running it at 1920x1080 resolution to make text readable but it's still very sharp. Although I really dislike how MacOS handles display scaling (Windows does much better)
So overall very pleased but even with veteran discount it was overpriced.

I registered just so I could post a review of the Studio Display. Never owned an Apple display before, bought the new 2026 Studio Display.

I've been around a while so I have owned many, many displays over the past 30+ years, and I have to say that the Studio Display is the best display I have ever owned, full stop. The quality of the LCD is really underrated, the color is simply mind-blowing. It's something you might not notice unless you have a bunch of other displays sitting around to compare it against, but I actually took out my other displays and set them up side by side, and the Studio Display blows all of them out of the water color wise. It's way better than the LG, Dell, Viewsonic, and Samsung displays I have. The color is just fantastic. I wanted to post that somewhere because I haven't seen anyone else mention it, but I tested it literally side by side against my other monitors and the color is on a completely different level.

Sound quality is great for builtin speakers, it reminds me of a higher end version of the speakers in my M4 15-inch MacBook Air. It's not going to replace any high end desktop speakers, but it sounds better than any built in monitor speakers I've ever heard. I actually bought it partially just for the speakers: I don't want desktop speakers because I mostly use headphones. For the times when I want to show something to someone else, I wanted the nicest builtin speakers money can buy, and that happens to be in the Studio Display. They have a bit of a V shaped curve: the bass and high end tend to be nice, but they're a little tinny in the middle. They still sound like built-in speakers as a result, but they sound really amazing for builtin speakers. If you're not an audiophile, you'll probably be very happy with them.

The camera is pretty good. I have a Logitech C920, and the image quality is better on the C920, but it's by a small amount. For the vast majority of people, I think the webcam will be just fine. I'm actually debating giving up the extra quality of the Logitech just because I like the convenience of the all-in-one.

The build quality is obviously fantastic and by far the best of any monitor I have ever seen. It feels (and looks) like a million bucks every time I interact with it. There is something to be said for having that million dollar experience every time you plug something into it, even if it's brief. I absolutely love the glossy screen (which is another reason I bought it), but I grew up with CRTs which all had glossy screens so I might be biased.

I've been using it for Windows at work and Mac when off work, and it works fine on Windows as a display. I'm not trying to use any of its features on Windows other than the display, but it does work fine, and switching between the two is fine.

Mine has no whine or sound of any kind, totally silent. In fact I was surprised when I bent over it to plug something in and felt air coming out of the top, I didn't even realize it had fans.

I will also say that I don't think the 60hz is a disadvantage. I've used plenty of 120hz displays and I get used to them real fast and tend not to even notice. People make too big of a deal out of the 120hz. If you're not a gamer, I honestly don't think you'll notice or care after a couple of weeks.

Overall, my only regret is not getting the XDR, but that's just because the Studio Display is the best display I've ever owned, so I can't even imagine how good the XDR is.

I have a question, as the 2026 Studio Display will probably be my new monitor. I will need to use the Cable Matters KVM switch, and I want to know if it is good enough to passed through the mouse and keyboard dongle I’ll plug inti the monitor as well as the 5K 60HZ signal?

This switch here:

It should work with my works Dell laptop too as it has a TB4 port on it.

I bought one this week after much procrastination. My setup is a 32” 4K Dell with a 27” 4K Dell doing secondary duties. I was hesitant to pull the trigger because the 32” is larger than the ASD and the text is proportionally larger too. I have 50 year-old eyes now and I’m trying to avoid working with specs on.

I received the ASD on Thursday and replaced the 32” with the ASD, and the 27” Dell with the 32”.

I can’t say adapting was super-smooth. I’ve had to adjust the distance to the ASD a few times: nearer, further, fuuuurther, nearer again and so on. Aging eyes and text don’t get on that well. Fortunately, I have the monitors on arms and changing position is easy enough. After a couple of days, I’ve pretty much settled on a position and have had a little over a day in this position. The text remains smaller than the 32”, but is legible and crisp – in MacOS and in my Windows VMs (Default scaling, BTW).

But…and this is the part that most seem to miss: the ASD’s automatic tone and brightness adjustment. It is probably the single biggest reason I wanted the ASD. From the days using my two old Thunderbolt Displays and my original 2011 iMac, I loved the automatic adjustment.

I have a window adjacent to my desk, and I get bright morning sunlight, dim afternoons and artificial light at night. The ASD adjusts to the differing conditions perfectly.

Being on a tight deadline, I’ve had to work late all week. Working on the ASD: I don’t feel too bad after a long day. This evening, tired and not thinking, I was working on the 32” Dell for a while. Fatigue and some nausea. That something I’ve felt that quite often after long days with the other monitors, not the ASD.

That’s my experience and why I’m likely to be keeping it 😎

Weirdly I am finding the ASD less comfortable than my old 24" Dell, which itself was a nice 4k monitor bought 1.5 years ago.

Maybe the matte screen helped, but I certainly see some reflections in my ASD, and at times it is noticeable. Even just with the window being to my right side, not behind. The sun hits the wall or door behind me and boom, I see all the detail reflected.

With that said, it's an awesome monitor. My eyes feel like they are working a little harder though, vs the Dell.

Maybe it's something I get used to as I've not used the ASD much over the last couple of weeks of owning it.

ASD is an excellent monitor for general macOS retina purpose. But for photography work and if you want a future proof monitor, It's a no go. Still using an old Eizo (>12000h) with his 3 inputs and his hood : 24", 1920*1200, 100cd/m2, 6500K, Adobe RGB 100%, auto calibrated, color stability in less than 5 min, flicker free.
