If you think the swipe up for unlocking your iPhone X made you laugh at the geniuses working at Apple, closing apps is even more funny.

Instead of swiping up to close the apps, you have to hold the app for a few seconds untill a red button appears and then you have to press it.

Come on Apple, really??

You can also swipe up on the apps to close them after the red button appears. I agree that just swiping up like it used to be is better, but after using the X for five months now, I’m used to pressing and holding an app first...Not really a big deal.

Thread title:

“Apple stupids work at Apple.”

I don’t even know how to make sense of that.

Also, Holding down and swiping up to close apps is a non-issue.

Kind of how iOS 6 was. It does take a bit longer on my iPod Touch 5G running iOS 6 but it's really no big deal in my honest opinion.

Where are you been?

How much have you had to drink today?

Huh? How is holding down then swiping up to close apps hard or an issue?

How about swiping up without holding the apps? That is much better.

Holding down the apps is just a waste of time and an annoyance just like swiping up after unlocking the iPhone X with FaceID.

I don't know about much better

You only have to press once, then you can swipe to your heart's content
You don't have to press every app
As stated, some, including me, have accidentally closed out apps without this, and it is just a minor tweak to avoid it

My 12.9 iPad Pro doesn’t need to press and hold to close down apps. Never closed an app by accident before on my iPad Pro.

So it is really a poor excuse.

Funny, so you guys are saying the 12.9 iPad Pro got it wrong and the iPhone X right?

OP: Calling Apple employees stupid is not very "Forum Respectful"

Plus, with all your negative X threads, including a couple where you say you will not buy one, I am left wondering why you are still starting threads and haven't gone to Android.

I agree with both sides of this coin.
Having to long press an app to get the delete icon and then swiping away apps is not an issue.
On the other side, there really is no reason as to why this needs to be done. There is a lot of OS fragmentation that I believe apple needs to start unifying.
