Let's be honest, if we discovered Microsoft or Google asking users to use this method, we'd be shaking our heads and making fun of them right now.

And we seem to be shaking our collective heads and making fun of Apple right now.

How about BLACKLISTING calls on iPhone?

When the iPhone was unveiled my first idea for an iPhone app was simple: Call Blocker! This would allow me to add telemarketers to a "Blocked" Contact List, and never hear from them again.

However, Apple's agreement with AT&T -- unofficially -- would not allow for this. You can't change the functionality of the Phone app, save ringtones.

Great, ... all telemarketers can continue to call my Do NOT Call (FCC) mobile number. That's "winning." I guess AT&T wants to ensure that call centers continue to call everyone as AT&T are the folks who supply the call centers with landlines to make outbound calls.

Great feature for iOS 7, yet 10.9 Messages doesn't support blocking, which makes negates the purpose. Sync blocked contacts/numbers in Messages for OS X and allow blocking. Simple.
