The sense of entitlement people expect is insane. And know the difference in a warranty exchange and retail return. Only way to expect a new retail unit was to return and repurchase the item from the point of purchase. Apple Care can only provide warranty replacements.

Mind. Blown.

Went to an apple store,

Got my device checked out due to having dead pixels (just realized i even had them)

Apple store was super busy and i was not taken care of for 1.5 hours, but they were busy so I understood

pushing more than 2+ hours, i was still not taken care of so i left the store

called the apple support line and was transferred to a specialist

I explained to her that in these exact words

"I purchased my iPhone 6 plus on the release date, and it's been working very well and I just happened to realize that I have dead pixels on bottom on my screen as I did multiple steps to confirm that they were dead pixels. My iPhone 6 plus has never been dropped, never been PUT IN MY POCKETS, tempered glass protection as soon as I got the phone as well as the sturdy case. Is it possible to ask for an advanced replacement?"

Specialist then said, "no we can't replace the phone. I don't know what advanced replacement is, but no but we can you a refurb that's functioning as new. (WTF?)"

I asked to speak to her supervisor, and she was glad to transfer me over to her supervisor. Instead of being transferred, she just hung up on me

Uhh... seriously Apple?

*Advanced Replacement is getting a new iPhone by apple putting a hold on your credit card for the retail price of an iPhone. They take the hold off once they receive my original phone.

I had the same problem than you, I just called the Apple call center, they gave me a date at the Genius Bar of Cologne Apple Store, I explained my problem, he checked, and he gave me a new iPhone 6.

New Apple products:
handled by humans in factory
looks new
has full warranty

Refurb Apple products:
handled by humans in factory
looks new
has full warranty

So what's the problem?

You pay for a new phone you should get a new phone. That's stupid I to say that. When I purchase something I'm not paying full price for it if it's slightly used for instance, I don't care if it's flawless. If it's refurbished or used its cheaper and not worth full price.

Op no way in hell would I accept that. I'm assuming you've had it less than 14 days? Get a refund.

EDIT: Nevermind! Just saw you've had it since release. How in the hell did It take you this long to notice the pixels?

Once you've used the phone a while your phone it's a used phone. So you're handing them a used phone, why shouldn't they do the same?

In real world terms, how is a refurb replacement any different from the used phone you handed them?

Not that it's very likely there are many actual refurbs in supply today; most replacements will merely be new stock diverted to warranty replacement stock. So it's pretty much a moot point as you have no way of knowing which is which today.

EDIT: just saw your edit. LOL Yes in 14 day exchange period, go ahead and return/exchange for another new box if available and if that's important to you.
