Apple Support

    My Girlfriend and I were in Seattle alittle while back and bought a headphone adaptor from the apple store. Well when she inserted the adaptor the tip broke off in the phone. We went back to Seattle (5hr drive) to the Apple store and see if they could fix the phone. Well they tried and ended up giving her a new phone. less then 1hr later the phone didnt work correctly. kept saying this accessory not made for the iPhone. even though nothing was inserted. We took the phone back yet again explained where we lived and how much of a hassle this was. They ended up replacing the phone again. This time the phone worked for like 2 weeks now half the screen doesnt accept touch at all. the bottom half just doesnt work. kinda weird it is exactly 1/2 the screen. Upon calling apple she found out that her year was over and that she was out of warranty. they said they could sell her a refurb for 199. What the hell is the point of that she can get a new phone for that. I feel they should replace her phone with a model that actually works since they apparently dont test their refurbs that well. Since it has been less then a month since she got the replacment is there any course of action we can take?

    You always have 180 days from the last replacement. If you are outside of that, then you ARE SOL, but within that time, tell them to check their records for her replacement history.

    TEG -- Thanks for that info. Apple care doesnt seem to care about that at all. The Store said they would replace it but Id have to drive up there again. Ill have her call apple support again and tell them what you said. Love that anime by the way.

    Well dumb question... Where are you? If it takes 5 hours to get to Seattle, are you in Eastern Washington, or Western Washington, and would driving to Portland not be a better choice?

    thanks TEG she used your info and got them to replace her phone she sent it in and got the new one today. I guess she needs to call apple support though as they keep giving her defective phones.

    0-head phone accessory apple store sold her broke off in phone on first insert
    1-kept stating the accessory not for iphone when no accessory was inserted.
    2-Touch Screen stopped working
    3-Phone keeps randomly resetting. she just got it today.

    Well after a huge run around this weekend with apple support. They have agreed to send her another phone. It is becoming a hassle as no one will honor the 90 day return policy. it was an Hour plus on the phone this last time to make them understand that we werent paying for repairs on a phone we have had for less then 48 hours.
