Healhcare needs to fix their Business Process problems first (by computerizing and removing paper for examples) and then will go mainstream into individual tablet-thingies later.


seems to me that the adoption of 'individual tablet-thingies' would go hand and hand with fixing those issues and other ones.

those thingies would allow for direct access to patient records, databases of drug info with interaction warnings and dosage calculators. this could help with malpractice and such because then you could tie it all into the pharmacy, notes for treatment (with alarms to remind staff to give dosages). etc. all paperless. and none of it written in hurried handwriting to risk something being read wrong.

yes it would require some redos on the computer systems to work together but it is the way of the future.
