just look at the reflection in the first image.... the keyboard is gone!!
They are as fake as they can be!

The major giveaway is the bottom left area of the tablet in the 2nd photo.

The MacBook Pro's keys, in real life, are a really strong black. For the base of the tablet to appear darker than the keys is just clumsy. Look at the noise!

The ambient occlusion underneath the tablet is too big and too even. Definitely a render (on top of a photo). Look at how little there is beneath the Macbook. Even with a curved back, it would not spread out this far or be this dark - particularly if it has a shiny metal finish.

Smacks of Cinema 4D - it's just too heavy.

i think we can all agree that this tablet device is one of the more guarded devices in apple's history prior to a release, similar to the iphone, macintosh, etc.

no images of it will be known until tomorrow.

My question is: why do we need this article AND the one on Page 2? Why not just promote the one from Page 2 to page 1? </rant>

They look cool. Fake or not, I don't really care. I don't see myself getting one any time soon (no need & no $$$ to buy it with).

anyone else think that would be terribly awkward to hold and operate?

Either way I'm not expecting much more design wise from Apple on this product. I think the only real thing that will set this apart from other tablets on the market will be its relation with iTunes. That bundled with a very recognizable software and some nice media playback features and you'll have their take on the tablet.

But really I'm just glad tomorrow everyone can stop speculating.

The tablet is coming out tomorrow. Why bother showing photos that are admitted fakes? What's the purpose? I just don't understand...

Would you like to see something which is forbidden to others? You are dealing here with human nature my friend ;)

Cease and desist.

I like it but idk if this is the real deal.

BUT.

If yes. An Apple attorney's "cease and desist" letter is on the way. To MacRumors and to all blogs in the planet earth.

Fake!!!

Hi, I work in Emeryville, CA at Pixar Studios. We often get the latest and greatest Apple Products before the general public. Of course with all the secrecy behind Apple products, we are not allowed to take them off of the campus. But I assure you I have seen, and held the Apple tablet and this is NOT it.

Good enough for me. This one looks the most legit of all the others I've seen.

So fake, it's unbelievable.

The gradient in the second photo on the reflection in the macbook is anything but gradual, and at the bottom of the screen the reflection even cuts off some of the MacBook's desktop wallpaper (the diagonal lines).

Throw in the stupid place for a volume switch on a device that size. The way you will hold (probably a little like a tray), the position is totally unintuitive.

It would be better placed on the front side edges (a la the Kindle's buttons).

Good effort at fakes though.

Nice background

Woooow nice apple desktop background on that mac pro. Thanks for posting arn.

Several previous rumours have mentioned an iPhone like Home button (which seems very plausible) and these images lack that home button. Also there are numerous strange things to notice in these images. So I'd vote for fake and made in Germany ;)

you are a newbie since this month claiming to know stuff like this.....
do you really think anybody believes you??

This is a 100% FAKE! The reflections don't match up, and there are shadows where they can't be naturally! I wouldn't mind if it did look that way though...although it does look a bit boring

Exactly, reflection on the screen of the macbook pro looks very off.

might be fake.

As pointed out on another forum -- the reflection of the apple wallpaper on the tablet is fine. The reflection of THAT reflection in the laptop screen isn't legit, and wouldn't ever happen.

This photo has been faked.

Good because I just don't understand how efficient this could be unless it was sitting on a surface. Sure you could simply hold it and watch movies, read the web, but input on this device would be very awkward. Nothing like a phone where my thumbs can reach anywhere on the screen.

I will also say that lots of images are photoshopped. People touch things up, remove stuff they don't want in the image, adjust levels, etc. Just because it went through photoshop doesn't mean it's fake. Though I doubt this is a real iteration of said device.

Of all the concept photos I've seen, the tablet decpicted in this one seems to be the most reasonably and logically designed. Some people here are already grumbling about an "edge-to-edge" screen -are you even looking at the same image I am?? 'Cause it sure looks like there's at least a half-inch of black-space around the active area of the screen. That's more than enough finger room to hold the thing -besides, who knows what kind of gesture tricks Apple have up their sleeve to discern intended interfacing from accidental?

As for all the second-guessing about reflections and what-have-you, I'll be interested to see how all that armchair expertise pans out should this in fact turn out to be the real deal. :D

It's not over 'till it's over.

And...

In the first photo, the dock connector seems to be right in the middle, but it is not in the second one.
