I could see the mass confusion caused by naming two brands nearly the same. "NO I SAID I WANTED THE IPAD!", "Sir I have your Ipod right here".

Why would it be any of those with the exception of the iBook? Mac? Macport? Macpod?

I'm going with iTablet or iTab.

    My guesses...:p
    • Maclet
    • Chiclet (my favorite - cute, relevant, and memorable)
    • iTouch Pro
    • Window (lol)
    • iPanel
    • iGlass (another one of my favorites)
    • Mac XL
Some wild names, but you never know with Apple.

I think they should call it the iPad or MacPad and have a pro version called the MacPad Pro :)

    iPod slate.

This will not be branded a Mac. Makes no sense what so ever to do that. Therefore, it won't run OS X.

The iPod brand name is golden and could use the kick in the ass as the iPod ages.

    The iYawn.
I already have an iPhone, what I really want is a 10" MacBook Air for running iWork and MS Office on the go.

Yeah yeah yeah...I thought about that but put it anyway. Hey, be glad it wasn't iTouch CP. THEN we'd have problems.

so you are going with the proclaimed "front-runner". I suppose if vegas was taking bets, iSlate would be in the lead.

I tend to agree with this. I think it fits well into the iPod family and isn't so different as to warrant a standalone name like the iPhone.

I see what you did there :)

Not sure about that after HP released their tablet dubbed, "HP Slate". Unless some legal action is in HP's future, I don't think Apple will be going with the iSlate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but HP has not used the name Slate. In fact, Ballmer used the term Slate PCs. I bet a jab at Apple.

Pretty much. From what we are seeing at CES the type of devices that are similar to this rumored one are being dubbed "slates." Also, apple owns the rights to iSlate. However, it is Apple, so who freakin' knows. :D

    How about:

    iTray
    iMag (iMagazine)
LightBox (You know like a photographer's light box for viewing slides / contact sheets)
    iScope
iScreen (but I have my doubts about this, sounds too much like ice-cream)
    LivePage
    iPage
    iPaper

I also really like iPad and MacPad (Both suggested already) ;)
