Apple Teases 'Huge Launch' Next Week

In his first memo to Apple employees as CEO today, John Ternus teased a "huge launch next week that's going to be phenomenal."

In a social media post today, Apple's marketing chief Greg Joswiak teased that Apple has "more to say" on Wednesday, September 9, which is when the company will be holding its next special event, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

During the event, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, its first-ever foldable iPhone, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, and potentially AirPods 5. Of course, there could be other announcements and surprises too. MacRumors will be providing live coverage of the event from Steve Jobs Theater.

I just took my iPhone mini to the Samsung store to check out the Fold 8 (which is the same size as the iPhone fold / ultra). Honestly, closed...it's pretty similar to the iPhone mini. Similar square area, just a different shape.

The amount of glaring bugs and issues in their OSes makes me roll my eyes. Waiting for the end gas lighting about how it’s all perfect because of Apple’s legendary commitment to unfathomable QA.

Can’t wait. I played around with a Fold 8 the other day and it feels great. The form factor was perfect for me, both opened and closed. Hopefully Apple's implementation of the hinge will feel as good too.
