Apple today said an "immersive music experience" from singer The Weeknd will be available to watch on the Vision Pro headset this Thursday, November 14.

Based on Apple's trailer, it appears that the experience will feature The Weeknd's unreleased song "Open Hearts," which he previewed during a concert in Australia last month. The singer is preparing to release a new album called "Hurry Up Tomorrow."

If you do not own a Vision Pro, you will still be able to watch the experience by requesting a free demo of the headset at Apple Stores where it is available, starting Friday, November 15. Vision Pro launches in South Korea and the United Arab Emirates on the same day.

That's definitely going to move some units lol

Apple really needs to show real use cases for Vision Pro rather than focusing on some ”celebrity” content yet again. What’s a killer app for this thing? What’s a daily use cases for work? How will it improve my life? Instead, they just push more entertainment, yet ignore what is perhaps the best case for Vision Pro entertainment: games. It boggles the mind that Apple doesn’t have a division to make games that showcase Apple’s technologies.

With concerts one thinks more about immersive music experience with Spatial Audio, but this is pitched obviously more towards VR visuals.

Excited for new Apple immersive experience! I hope Apple continues to make these experiences for AVP... would also be great to see extended length experiences (5 min is never enough!)

uh oh, do you think they will have any in stock by then?!

I've been listening to music through stereo speakers for decades. How can it get any more immersive than that?
Well, you could buy AirPods and listen with Spatial Audio on them. But yes, it’s more immersive. On the other hand, immersive is immersive like immersive, essentially, this is visually immersive.

Stereo is traditionally 2-channel. Then Dolby brought us 5-channel. Spatial audio has unlimited angles of audio, including above and below. Add in visuals, and you're transported to a whole new very realistic world.

Sound doesn't just come from 2 or 5 fixed points.

What could be better than watching a mediocre musician play their Apple-sanitized music through a pair of heavy goggles.
What a time to be alive!

Mediocre? Sanitized? Let's try subjective. ☺️
