Plug in the power cable and that's "it" to be 'docked' to a docking station?

YES PLEASE!

Power, USB, Video, audio? One cable? Dream come true.

I was thinking the exact same thing when reading the article!

I wouldn't even care if they made it thin and skinny as opposed to the traditional squatty one.

Listen, the one huge thing they need to do about the MagSafe is to make it a cable, you know, like with a connector at each end, instead of making it allong dongle on a power supply or smlomething else. The wire that connects to the MagSafe by the mac lasts a couple of years and then it breaks. I know; I'm on my 3rd one. Unfortunately, you have to through away th whole damn thing, power supply and all, because you cannot (practically) rewire the cable. I've tried. It is absurd that a broken wire you can even see requires you to throw away $65 worth of hardware. It's not only absurd, it's stupid design.

FYI, There are several places that recycle and refurbish the PSU's... they certainly shouldn't be going in the trash.

The newer L shaped MagSafe look like it'll be more durbale... only time will tell though.

apple's own tweaked magsafe adaptor with optic fibre= Light Peak ready

With 4 fibers in the MagSafe connectors then its going to be light twin peak.

Funny thing to have an anyway connector like MagSafe then it's going to need two light peak channels to make sure the transmits connect to the receive on the other end.

Still will be very cool when it arrives.
