Just discovered, that if you need to get the glass replaced, even if within warranty period, there is no option offered;

Actually, yes, they do offer for a cool ~ 400$, they will take your phone and 3 weeks later give it back repaired / replaced! This was confirmed by apple support;

Something we might need to factor in before buying in Thailand online!
Of course, this is not something told or informed to us when we buy it;

What model phone do you have?
A year ago the Apple Service Centre in Chonburi (city) replaced the screen of an iPhone 5s for me at the cost of 4000Baht.

You should always buy the iPhone directly from Network operator like TRUE. They give 1 Year warranty.
Isn't the warranty a manufacturer warranty and not a carrier (network operator) one?

There was nothing BUT Apple products in the store located in the biggest mall in Pattaya.
They are Apple resellers not Apple stores
When my MBP needed repairing under AppleCare I was sent to an authorised Apple repairer. They had to get the parts from Singapore. Maybe the authorised Apple repairers only repair computers not phones. But I would be surprised if that was the case.

Looking on the Apple site there are authorised iPhone repairers in Pattaya
