I tried to connect a Dell Latitude 7300 to my extra Apple TB 27" display via an Apple TB2-to-TB3 adapter (yes, the Dell has a TB3 USB-C port) and it did not work... any ideas?
If the laptop uses a Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 controller, it's not backwards-compatible with the Thunderbolt Display (which is a Thunderbolt 1 device).

How would i verify that? Its a dell latitude 7400…i see “intel” thunderbolt when i open the tb app

There is a setting in the bios though that i think i need to enable. Right now bios says TB enabled and TB boot support. But i think we also need to enable TB (and PCIe behind TBt) prebot. I just could not test it out yet since its a work laptop and is managed by IT dept

I have a titan ridge card with working thunderbolt display. I have to boot into hackintosh open core install first before booting into windows 10 via bios change to get it to work and I don't know why it does that way either. None of the audio or periphireals work though. Hoping I can get audio working with some help here.

I came here to add, thunderbolt 4 does NOT work with apple thunderbolt 27” displays. I tried everything!! It worked with my pc with tb3. My work updated me to a new pc with only tb4. I even tried Tb4 to Tb3 dock to tb3>tb2 adapter. Tb4 is in no way compatible with the displays. I may just sell the two I have. Such a bummer as my old lenovo p51 worked with both my tb displays daisy chained together flawlessly with the adapter. I just wish there was an hdmi out to tb2 in adapter!!
