Likely - as it's also included on the current generation.
No, you misread the original post. The OP is hoping the 2013 TBD comes with a MagSafe v2 -> MagSafe v1 adapter, so that he/she can use it with his/her MagSafe v1 Mac(s). The 2011 TBD comes with a MagSafe v1 -> MagSafe v2 adapter, which is to be used with MagSafe v2 Mac(s) :)

If AppleTV wanted to be the 'Next Generation', they would come out with a 42"-51", 120Hz, 4K screen. It would also be able to able to hook it into a bunch of different HDMI devices, laptops, and whatever else.

I use a 37" HDTV now and won't look at anything smaller.

Built-in GPU might be tricky, but why apple did not put HDD inside the display.
I would love to have a monitor, docking station and 3TB HDD in one piece

Why would a GPU be tricky? Thunderbolt works as a PCIe interface so it's pretty transparent.
There are already external Thunderbolt GPUs. It's "just" a matter of putting one inside the display casing instead.

No, they're not. They are comparing the ATD to name brand 27" 2560 x 1440 IPS monitors, which can be had for under $700 in some cases.

Face it. The ATD is overpriced. $700 sounds right to me.

You are forgetting the USB, TB, ethernet, webcam, speakers...etc. It really is a docking station.

One issue with the current Thunderbolt Display is the lack of audio out. There's various ways I can workaround this without plugging in to the jack on the laptop itself (Bluetooth A2DP, USB audio interfaces, streaming audio to an Airport Express, etc), but I really think it should be part of the display. Extra points if in addition to an analog audio out, they give some sort of digital audio out like TOSLINK, mini-TOSLINK or even HDMI.

I agree! I didn't notice the missing audio jack until I got it. Disappointing. I'd give feedback, but there isn't a section at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ for displays.

The mini-jacks are both analog and digital. I have TOSLINK going from Klipsch Digital Decoder to mini-jack on MBPr.

The other issue I have is general bugginess of the USB ports (at least when used with a rMBP). I can workaround the issues by attaching a hub to the ports, but this needs to be fixed. Not sure if it's the display or the rMBP, though.

I haven't had any USB issues, although my first display died after 2 days. The replacement has been fine. What kind of bugginess?

Now, the one thing that I believe Apple should do with the ATD that many of their similarly priced competitors do is offer a 3 year warranty, standard.

Not the same thing, but if you buy an ATD with a new computer and get the AppleCare, it will cover the both the computer and monitor for 3 years.

Does anybody know if you buy AppleCare for a previously bought Mac (still under the 1 year warranty) along with a new TBD, will the TDB be under warranty as long as the Mac is?

The website only talks of buying both the Mac and TBD at the same time, but I don't see why they wouldn't allow buying the TDB later on (supposing you only benefit from the remaining warranty of the Mac, not a full 3 year).

those talking about supreme ATD quality... why than apple does not use 0 pixel warranty?:D if dell can do that:D

Other changes likely to appear in an updated display are a move to USB 3.0 ports, which have become standard on Mac products, and the inclusion of a MagSafe 2 port for charging Mac notebooks.

Fresco PCIe to USB 3.0 bridge controller support in 10.8.2/10.8.3. What a coincidence! ;-)

It's going to be thin as the new iMac is, with no chin .. no surprise here. Why do I get the feeling Apple is getting more predictable here? :p

But it's a welcome change, unless it brings more heat problem since current Thunderbolt and Cinema Display could be annoyingly hot when turned on with maximum brightness (on store display).

I'd like 3 or 4 USB 3.0 ports, SDXC card reader, and please .. HDMI input. I'd like to be able to use gaming tower + MBA for my next setup, all connected to one TB display with no cable switching (not to mention it's virtually impossible to connect dGPU output to this shiny display). I want it to be beautiful, yet powerful

Or screw that 3 year warranty, let's just get a "No Bright pixel" policy going for it, iMacs and laptops. Apple's ridiculous "working as designed" pixel policy is retarded in 2012.

Bring back matte! Bring back matte!

Return of the matte! Come on. Enough of these headache inducing mirror displays.

A matte IPS display with USB3 and the docking features would easily have me shelling out a grand. Cant imagine they'd offer a true matte version after doing all fo the promotion towards the new iMacs glare reduction.

Not sure where the ATDs are made but is it possible that the panel manufacturer has swapped to making 27" iMac panels to help with demand for the iMac? Doesn't mean that a new ATD isn't coming but if they are swapping over to a similar laminated design, it would make sense to focus the limited supply of 27" panels on the iMac until yields increase.
