Or you buy the older and still available Apple LED Cinema Display.

And knowingly spend the same amount of money on product that contains inferior camera and no possibility of ever using Thunderbolt in the future?

It seems clear that Thunderbolt display is meant to be used only for the brand new Macs. If you try to purchase just the display, shipping time is 6 - 8 weeks. If you add TB display to your new Mac Mini order, it ships in a couple of days.

I have a new 17" MBP, connected to a 3 months old (and now obsolete, who would have thought!) 27" Apple Cinema Display.

My question is this: Can I connect TWO displays to my MBP? Meaning, can I buy the new Thunderbolt display, connect that to the MBP, and then daisy-chain my cinema display to the new Thunderbolt display? That way I will have a great 3-displays setup.

I couldn't find any information about this on Apple's site.

Hmm... Seems like I am now answering my own question:

"The new Thunderbolt port lets you connect up to six Thunderbolt devices, including the new Apple Thunderbolt Display. You can also daisy-chain an Apple LED Cinema Display. Have a third-party display? Use the HDMI port and HDMI to DVI adapter that comes with Mac mini to connect it. You can even connect two displays to see more of your photos, movies, and documents at the same time."

Hopefully this is true for the Macbook Pros as well. I can't see why not...

The new TB Display with all the new ports sounds awesome. I was gonna buy a Cinema Display for my 2010 MBP, but not anymore. I guess I'll save up and wait for the 2012 MBPs and get a TB Display at the same time.
