Wow. My Fidelity software was showing the date of January 28th. They pushed it back a week. I wonder where the stock will be around that time so I can buy some back and not have to deal with Wash Sales.

I'm starting to be concerned that Apple can't adapt quickly enough to diversify its production and that most of Tim's experience assumed reliable supply from China. I also think it might be a stretch that Apple's VR/AR products will not be an immediate hit though I really hope to be surprised. Virtual reality work meetings don't really excite me.

Have you tried customising a HP / Lenovo laptop in the last few years?
They make Apple look like the supply chain gods.

Apple have released some less than average products in the autum, including iPhones 14, even the 14 Pro's, are not as exciting as the hype, when you dig down into it, it would be a shock if their earnings aren't down and it will simply be down to the average products released
While I completely agree with you on the lackluster product offerings, it cost them practically nothing to go from the 13 to the 14. The horrible iPad 10th gen cost them very little. Profit margins are probably at a record high due to things like this.

In what ways? What do you recommend?

And why do you hope Apple misses their numbers by a mile?

Just my belief that iOS has become cluttered and unintuitive in too many ways, because Apple has not felt real pressure in too long. I feel as if they’re drowning in their own monetary successes, resting on their laurels a bit and that we as users are the ones who have suffered from it. I feel that some type of decline in growth might be the only way to shock Apple back into producing higher quality software design and product innovation again.

Otherwise why not be creatively lazy and uninspired? Why hire the best talent when cheaper hires can be had, when all kinds of corners can be cut and sales will meet expectations anyway? Where is the impetus to push themselves?

Edited to add: As far as recommendations go, I think software design is the #1 issue currently, I would replace whoever is leading that department. Apple Music is a mess, Apple Weather isn’t very good, which is why a significant population of users went to Dark Sky and Apple had to ultimately end up purchasing it.

iOS in general has become so cluttered and confusing, that sometimes I find myself and have even known friends and family members Googling to find solutions for things as simple as where to find options that are buried within menus.

The second problem is way too much variation and choice. The iPad line is a perfect example, way too many SKU’s and confusion.

It will be interesting to see if the sale slump is as bad as reported.
I wonder if they count a sale if ir's ordered or once it ships and they get the money. It seems to be getting better at less than a week for shipping but was like three weeks or worse in December

For sales to end customers, Apple would typically recognize the revenue when the products are shipped.
