China's the next big consumer market, and they're highly protectionist. Who knows? Maybe this has to do with avoiding some bizarre tax on some of their products there.

Besides, China is one of the absolute leaders in research and tech advancement, and don't have the political and social issues India has. The U.S. simply can't compete.

Having worked in China for a couple of years - I have to wonder what Cook was promised under the table for this "investment".

Not from what we are seeing. Granted there's some guy sitting behind the CAD computer saying ok take the 9.7 iPad and make it into a 12.9 . Yes I know there is much more too it but how many people does it take? The logic boards are made at request to the buyers specifications. Once again Im sure there is more to it but from what we "CONSUMER/USER" Theres NOTHING NEW and exciting. The keyboards on the MBPs sound like bubble wrap being popped in the distance. Seriously thinking it's time to move on from the Apple Eco system. Windows is definitely NOT an option, and the fact that all the software I use is available on linux. Sorry I'll get down off my pedestal now.
I ever wonder if Apple is eating its own dog food to develop new things. Maybe they're and using CAD on Mac systems... it would explain why it takes that long to develop something new. It's a shame they discontinued their x-server. They should've known before building those data centers that they would've need lots and lots of servers. Oh well... if they don't eat their own dog food because it's not sufficient for their needs, how can they throw it to their customers?

I really hope Samsung S8 will be something big. Their just released tablet is what the iPad Pro should have been on the day it's got released. Only a big drop in profits will wake Tim & Co. The exodus of its long time customers don't.

I don't know much about project Titan. But seeing BMW, Tesla and Mercedes showing off their latest tech with gesture recognition and even more high tech than what Apple has to offer today, I've a hard time thinking Apple will be able to deliver above that. Also my faith in Apple as an innovative company has eroded the last years.

Lots of pipeline, talk and no delivery.
