Why do you keep dodging the question ? Who wrote that on Briefing, what is the name of the person who wrote it. Who writes news ? Journalists. They usually put their name up on their articles. Your ADBE AAPL quip has no name on it, who wrote it ? What's his credentials ? What's his history with such rumors ?
Without this information (which you keep failing to provide), we cannot seriously even begin to discuss this rumor. You just basically stated : "An anonymous source claims Apple might buy Adobe". Ok, moving along, nothing to see here.
So that you are telling me, that you watch ABC evening news where they inform, that there is a rumor about company XXX being about to bring a new product on the market AND they identify the source of this rumor (maybe jealous employee being fired), his/her credentials and his/her history with such rumors? I do not think so.
I have identified my source of this rumor - Bloomberg and Briefing - which for me are respectable financial news services and for you a tabloids. They had identified this as a rumor by themselves at that time. They did not clasify this as a fact, news, analysis or else.
I have also identified this as a rumor from the beginning. If this all for you is "An anonymous source claims Apple might buy Adobe" so be it. Move along. For me it is "Bloomberg and Briefing informed about a rumor ....".
There are tons of threads here based on "some unnamed employee said..." or "a blogger wrote". All are rumors (as mine is), which may or may not became a reality.
I just saw this "information" on a respectable source and thought, it might be of interest to post, as a rumor. There were a lot of discussion at the exchange floor about it at that time as well, which usually is a sign that something might be in the air.
In case you accept nothing but facts you would have to wait what and if anything comes from it. This is a rumor on MacRumors. Source-identified, documented, however still just a rumor.
