I think it’ll be a replica of the Apple I but running on an M6 chip.

What a sad 50th anniversary. Not one product that wows customers. The only reason they have customers is because the competition is even worse. The last phone that was semi decent was the iPhone 8. The last mac that was semi decent was the 2nd gen MBA. The last time the store was a decent place was before the Burberry lady took over. Lots of products are great. The MacBook Neo will be perfect for my kids. My iPhone 16e was finally a great phone for a great price. I love Tahoe and I love how durable Apples products are and how affordable they got. I still use the OG Magic Mouse and iPad mini 3. I owned a G4 Cube and I didn't buy an iPhone until the price came down with the 4 so I remember when Apple was expensive and you had to justify a purchase with its longevity and resale value. Surely Apple has duds like Siri or Apple Home and the HomePods. But overall the people in this forum just love to cry and don't represent the majority of Apple users. Apple is in great shape and I would even say it it in better shape than ever, especially when you think about where Apple was in 2019.

Whats the point of these events if only website owners and influencers are invited? I'd love to attend the on in London but I'm not a YouTuber, so..
Why dont they just invite the people who actually buy Apple products, sell exclusive merch on the day. It's not hard to extend an invite to people who live in / near a specific city and who have registered actual purchases of Apple products. Keep restricting this to influencers and everyone else just just going to shrug their shoulders and tune out.
 
So much for the 'surprise' in London, while I dont know the specific date / time, I DO know which venue (obvious) and which Band they have lined up (wont say - as it will upset MacRumors) . Again disgusting that this is just for the influencers.

Edit: I now know the date.

Just read “celebrity”. Since Hollywood is slowly dying there aren’t many new celebrities, “influencer” is the same thing now.

It’s not meant for the people to attend, this is basically the equivalent of Dick Clark’s Rockin New Years Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

David Pogue’s book is the only 50th thing for fans. The rest of the festivities are strictly for iJustine and MKBHD.

It’s not just influencers - I know someone who received a chance to attend because they follow the band in question and the band extended a chance to attend to their fans. Entries were then selected at random as I understand (with each successful entry getting a plus one). However, not sure if entires were checked against some other list of criteria (e.g. Apple Music subscribers, etc.) or if it is otherwise just fans/influencers.

No offence but a band (which I revealed Monday) inviting its fans has little to do with celebrating Apple. Im an Apple fan and couldn't give a damn about this band. Apple have handled these 'celebrations' terribly.
 
Pity nothing is gonna happen here. It would be good time take my old CRT iMac Think different t-shirt out. 😆

That’s a fair enough critique and I’m not disagreeing. I’m just commenting on your statement that “Again disgusting that this is just for the influencers”, which was not the case—not whether you personally like the band or think it’s an appropriate celebration for Apple.

It’s your prerogative as to your opinion on the band and how that relates to Apple/their handing of their celebration. Apple has always invoked music during its existence and made that part of their presentations and celebrations and I’m not sure a free wallpaper or t-shirt for people who happen to queue at an Apple Store etc. is that much better. To expect a new set of products (or specific 50th anniversary editions) is a bit naïve given Apple’s recent run of form, in my personal opinion.
