Apple to charge iPad users for iOS 4.0 upgrade ?

    I wouldn't have thought this was true. Apple wouldn't like the bad PR associated with it.

    I thought during the iPhone4 launch SJ said they figured out a way to give the updates for free.

    No way they charge. iAds requires iOS4. Why do you think the touches all got free upgrades this time around :D

    Interesting. Even though I personally thought they would charge for iOS4 simply because the iPad doesn't have that phone contract aspect to it. I figured that they'd treat iPads kind of like iPod Touches. Still, this is pretty nice news that at least iOS4 will be a free upgrade.

    Touches no longer get charged the upgrade. The iPad license agreement specifically states you get 4.0 free. Steve said at the launch of iOS 4 you get it free for iPad.

    Move along people.
