Perhaps they listened to me. :)

Now to see what they actually say. If they say "you’re holding it wrong," then there might be some tomatoes being thrown.

Here's an early snapshot of Jobs at the press conference

mad_as_hell.jpg
One of my favorite movies way back when. “Network” in case the youngun’s don’t know.

I think they may be talking about the death grip issue, but the main point of the conference is to announce the beginning of more international sales at the end of this month (28th?)

Over 2 million have been sold in the US. Yes, we've had complaints. But now we're ready to sell 20 million all around the world as to make the problem go global!

Don't worry ATT - they can't blame ya in France!

Anyone else going to find the nearest small child and kick them into a wood chipper if Jobs (or someone) doesn't address any of these issues?

I can see it all happening now:

World patiently waits 1.5 days for El Jobso to make a statement and here's what he has to say...

"I know you all have been wondering about to ongoing issues with our new Magical iPhone 4 so I'm here to appease the discomfort you've all been having... I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico! Oh and hold it better, get a better shaped face, and get less crappier lighting when you take pictures, Peace tricks."

Heres my guess:

- Free bumpers (30%)
- Voluntary recall (50%)
- Involuntary recall (10%)
- "We still think your holding it wrong" (10%)

It will be funny when the white iPhone 4 won't have the reception issue...

EVERYONE IS GOING TO WANT ONE!

Hopefully people don't glance over this post:

I have quite a few friends with degrees in business, econ, etcetera. They've all told be the same thing:

A recall will create a bigger mess. Think about it: if they recall the iPhone, they will stop selling it until they fix it (most recalls work this way).

If Apple has to tell all of these people who are on priority lists, waiting for white phones (like me), or just can't find one because they're bloody sold out, people are going to be out for blood.

Also: to fix the issue, whether it's as simple as coating the band, or redesigning the phone, will take at least 1-2 months, and all of the current inventory won't be able to be sold until it's fixed. You think they're going to piss away 2+ months of sales. A recall is a horrible idea.

They're probably going to give people free bumpers or store credit.

It will be to tell everyone that the reception issues is really AT&t's problem and because of that they dropped their agreement and will be going with Verizon starting on Monday.

No matter what's said, it's a reaction. Apple is out of it's element at this point. Their credibility in shambles, they will be hard pressed to accomplish anything of value. Turn out the lights, the party is over.

Logical thing for them to do is to extended the return period to 60 days, so apple will have time to come up with a solution for the people that affect by the issue.

So when is the new Mac Pros coming out?

iPhone...iPhone...iPhone...iPhone...iPhone...iPhone...

...or they'll work out a deal with carriers to allow for early upgrades for the next iteration.

But - I don't think that's something they would announce this early because they would want to save that as "news" when the new one is released.

I urge everyone to tune in and really REALLY listen to what's being said carefully. As in - listen what IS and what is NOT being said.

The keynotes and Apple's PR/Marketing (usually) are very very good. They spin like no other. Which is why I was so surprised at that awful letter they released. It was TOO transparent. Too obvious.

So listen carefully...

They will talk about what a great launch iphone 4 was. They have sold well over 2.5-3 million units now. They are going to continue with rollout with international countries like China, South korea and other parts of Europe.
They will talk about very small users have complained about iphone 4. Apple will allow people to return the product with no restocking fees. Also, apple will most likely issue 30-50 dollars apple store gift card. Since many people have already bought bumpers, they cannot just issue free ones. People will just return every single cases they have bought.
They will talk about white iphone and future software update for ipad.
Steve will probably criticize how unreliable consumer report is.
