I love forum post that use words like “most iPad users” followed by a list of do’s or don’ts as if they’ve done the research to prove their statement. When in reality the “most” may be “many” or “some” at best. I can’t personal speak for most iPad users but as for me, I have no plan in going backward in technology even if I didn’t need it to begin with. Now that I have it, I enjoy it. :):D

I think your criticism of my post is fair. I should have said something like, "I consider myself a pretty typical user, and the following "Pro" features are not particularly important to me. I prefer that Apple not add Pro features to the entry level offering if it means the base iPad will cost more than the current $329 entry price."

I have family subscriptions to iCloud (2TB) and Apple Music, but I won’t be adding a paid news subscription. I get the paper delivered on weekends (in Australia) and it includes a free digital subscription which can be activated in Apple News, so I already have what I need there. However, if Apple were to bundle it for no additional cost with my Apple Music subscription, then I’d cancel the local delivery and go digital only. I am interested in an Apple TV/Video subscription, but it’s also yet another subscription. At this stage, I think that Apple should have an option to bundle these for a reduced cost.

If they can seriously get me WSJ and the Post for $9.99 a month and allow me to read them on my Kindle, sign me up.

On the one hand I know news organizations are hurting and I would be more likely to sign up through Apple than saying paying individually in a news website. On the other hand, give them a break Apple...50% of revenue when you don’t do any content curation or journalism?! Seems like a monopoly-type move. No wonder organizations are pushing back.

Introducing iPad mini 5. The best step backwards since reverse was invented. You know your finger has missed that home button. Lol Here’s to hoping the new mini will be like the pros...
At $649 or so, Apple would sell far fewer minis than at its current $399 price point. That said, I’d love a mini Pro.

But realistically, I think we’ll get either the current, amazing laminated screen for about the same $399 price tag, or a cost-reduced mini like the 2017/2018 9.7” iPads, at maybe $249-279.

I’m happy to pay for a subscription service as I do for Texture but I think that Apple will find people in general getting subscription fatigue if they release multiple subscription services all this year and for separate prices.

I’m positive that Apple already knows this which is why they’ll announce it all together and release it under a single Apple subscription. Music, TV, movies, news and magazines all for one price.

There might even be additional perks like increased iCloud data and Apple Care. Apple might also expand the iPhone subscription plan at this event. Subscribe to an annual iPhone upgrade and get all the services included.

For the services alone, I think that Apple is going to surprise on price. Despite all the criticism over price raises this past year, Apple sets the prices at what people will pay. Sure, a subsection of people would spend $50 per month for all services but it wouldn’t be a price most people would be running to pay.

It needs to be so enticing that almost everyone would think it’s a deal. Let’s not forget that access to all music for $9.99 was a mind blowing deal when Apple Music was announced, specially to those used to buying a single album for that price on iTunes at the time.

I think that $39.99 is reasonable but my gut tells me that Apple is going to set it at $25. Easy choice for most people. They won’t hesitate and Apple will make it up on volume. That’s a guaranteed $300 per year from tens of millions of people. That’s $30B in annual revenue if they sign up 100 Million users. When you think of it at that scale, Apple can afford to offer all those services from the perspective of customer retention alone, not to mention the revenue.

But keeping people in the Apple ecosystem, buying and upgrading iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Watches is the ultimate goal.

Why does it feel like when it comes to services Apple is working backwards from the financials to a product? This seems more like somebody at Apple wondering what they can charge users a monthly fee for and then trying to come up with something. People might pay for a Netflix clone but getting them to pay $10/month for the news? Not likely. And no new publication is going to sign on if they have to give Apple 50% and get no user analytics. Crazy.
Welcome to the new Apple.

Also, bruh Apple where are the new iMacs ????

Two year cadence now it seems: 2015, 2017, 2019. Apple skipped Intel’s 8th gen, so at this point I’m assuming they’re waiting for Intel 9th gen. At a minimum. Maybe AMD Navi too, but maybe not, since rumors say it’s been delayed from June until October :mad::(

Exactly.... I bet there will be talk of the TV (Apple originals) subscription as well, not just news. Because this will be a netflix competitor.
I mean, with as much content as they have already created, surely we’re getting close to launch.

Steve Jobs theatre held its first event which took place on September 12, 2017. So if there is some sort of pattern for what is and isn't done there I think it's a bit early to say.
Well so far it had only been the biggest events of the year and it has Steve Jobs name on it. Usually smaller events are hosted at random places, sometimes in different cities and WWDC is usually at the same place until they switched to a new venue a couple years ago or whenever.

Other things expected to be not announced:
•Innovative products
•A new MacPro (Timmy Kook is still checking under couch cushions for extra screws)
•Affordable computers that don't require you to sell your blood in order to buy.

In other words, Apple can’t innovate anymore, where’s my Mac Pro and Apple computers are too expensive

This won’t be available on its own as a subscription. It’ll be bundled in with the Tv subscription, music subscription and iCloud storage. It’ll enable it to gain marketshare and influence. Here comes Apple’s version of Amazon Prime.

I bet they will show iPad mini. That’s pretty logical: “Our news service is great. And what’s the best device to read those news? iPad. Introducing new iPad mini.”

Apple was only that creative when jobs was around, their presentations suck now. Only thing that saves their keynotes is mr.craig federighi
