If this will happen, I'm sure Apple's going to also add in an HD iSight webcam. That'd be cool to do video calls while sitting on your couch in the living room with the whole family.

I'd love this. I could see a commercial around the holidays showing a mother and kids opening Christmas presents by the tree while their deployed father watches via the Facetime cam in the new Apple TV, giving him a living room feel as if he was there with them.

Or if 2 people want to listen.

Weird, I have 2 of them. Well, 3 actually, but one is unplugged due to some problems.

No BluRay. No DVR functionality (at least nothing close to the quality of Windows Media Center). It's a parody on HTPC.

I really, REALLY doubt it. I can't see how Apple can make their traditional profit in this extremely competitive, commodity-type market of HDTVs.

Why not? Even if the price is double the competition the loyalists will still buy them and Apple will continue to make huge profits. Remember that Apple won't care about anything but the high end, high priced market.

Utter nonsense.

Apple charges a grand for a 27" display.

You can get a 40" TV for that.

Lol at comparing Apple to Bose.

Bose makes garbage...Apple does not.

Do you know anything about the differences between a 27" enterprise class IPS display and a common 40" 'HD' TV? The most glaringly obvious difference to the laymen out there is the pixel density; 1440p vs 1080p, 2560 vs 1920. IPS vs no IPS. LED vs no LED. There are huge differences which determine the price discrepancy.
