Am I the only one who thinks that Mavericks will become some sort of the new Snow Leopard for a lot of people? Like, fully functional with the latest techs (CPU and ram optimization) but still pretty and cool? I have this feeling 10.10 will become a "dumb" system, or better, a system for the dumb.. I mean, is there even 1 person who loved Lion and Mountain Lion? Besides iCloud integration? I think not. Kinda feels like I'm already waiting for the 10.12 lol. Anyway, I hope 10.10 is awesome and I'm just plain wrong

Mavericks my be just that for me. ML worked better for me but I am unable to go back. I am getting really tired of the Yearly OS Fashion Show. New OSs never get fully sorted out before we get Jony Ive's next fantasy pushed on us.

For school kids socialing around on their iPads and iPhones the yearly changes might be an interesting event. For some of us older people who appreciate a good, solid, well sorted out desktop OS the Yearly OS Fashion Show seems kind of childish.

Yes, a two hour keynote will definitely be about more than a couple of OS's.

Last years keynote was just under 2 hours. They unveiled iOS 7, OS X Mavericks, released Macbook Air refreshes and previewed the new Mac Pro.

Except that people complain all the time how crappy things are. It's easier if people come to expect a fix within the year.

Microsoft has that problem with Windows & Windows Phone. People don't know when things may change and lose confidence.

Why does everyone talk about sick days when talking about taking days off?

I'm not sure if other companies offer this, but I'm planning on using a Personal Choice Holiday for WWDC (I get 6 a year, and there's only so many legitimate holidays I want off that the company doesn't already have off, so why not?)

Why not create an Intel CPU/GPU for the iPad/iPhone, and , migrate iOS to Intel? Either you rewrite OSX to ARM or you rewrite iOS to Intel, and Intel is the fastest. Or could that make too much opportunity to Hackintosh iOS devices?

Intel CPUs are more power hungry. ARM is far more efficient. The architecture was designed for low-power from the ground up.

It's better to adopt ARM architecture all-the-way through.

I thought there would be an iWatch announcement since they have to give the iWatch software to the developers before the iWatch can be released.

Well one thing's for sure, the biggest things on the list will be free.

Can ARM in a desktop/laptop compete with intel speed wise? What about gamers accessing games based on Intel architecture? Or anything based on Intel architecture. I'd hate that apple goes back to an entirely separate architecture. An intel chip based on ARM mobile architecture so that iOS can integrate with osx seems a better choice?

ARM should be able to compete easily with Intel for high-end desktop work.

They could use the core from the A7, and bump up the speed, cache, and IO bus widths. They're limited by power budgets because of mobile.

A7 is about 1/3 the speed of a top intel chip, yet it only takes 5 watts. A top intel chip is a good 50 watts.

If they raised the power budget to desktop specs, it's pretty much game over for Intel.

SPOILER ALERT!
OSX 10.10 will have new flat icon styles.
iOS8 will have more features Android already has + iOS home.

REVOLUTIONARY... LOL.

Kid, go back to XDA and mess around with your custom kernels.

We don't take kindly to revolutions in here.

Someone pee in your Cheeries this morning? Apple's chip transitions have gone very smoothly. And if the rumours of ARM are valid, iOS has already been running on ARM for many years. iOS is a sibling of OS X. The transition has already been completed.

No but why are you so defensive & angry sounding about my statement? I merely stated my intentions. Yes, iOS is based on OSX but my Intel OSX programs are not written for ARM.

I've been though every Mac transition. They are a hit on productivity & expensive to the end user, hardly the transparent, seamless move you describe. Just using the last switch, Rosetta worked but not without a speed hit & also not bullet proof. And major vendors like MS & Adobe took forever to bring out Intel versions. And then there is all the s/w I had to rebuy, forced to upgrade if I wanted to still use it or couldn't use anymore because the developer decided not to make an Intel version.

This is an old article here but sums up my feelings on the S/W end.

Intel to ARM won't be as painless as you say. I'm not interested. Sorry if that gets you hot & bothered. Not sure why it does though.

Mark my word, some slop troll living in his moms basement will probably still complain Apple isn't innovative enough.

Like a president's State of the Union speech, their remarks are already prepared and set for general release on Monday afternoon.

My thoughts exactly. Now, if they go back to modular with laptops, I am sold. Else, bye bye Apple.
