Any takers on my photoshop?

I would buy that in a second. I'm already tempted to buy one of the uMB, if that came out that'd push me over the edge! :apple:

You can buy batteries at some tech stores. Maybe he was talking about that.

A black uMB would be pretty cool. I wouldn't buy it though. I don't usually spend money for something that's not functional.

I love it!! haha

I think it might come back, I mean the new Macbook($999,MC something) may have a Black version. Becasue some sources said the 466 and 467 may have a update model called Macbook Pro instead. There should be something to be called Macbook.

I was thinking about this the other day when I first heard about the rebranding and thought it was completely possible that they bring back the black MacBook. BUT I don't think it will happen.

What I believe could happen is that they drop the price of the current uMB's by a bit, and just add a 13" MacBook Pro for somewhere around the $1700 price range. It would have a better screen and a graphics card for obvious reasons. Who knows though.

I was thinking about this yesterday....where are they gonna fit all that in the 13" body?! Well, not the screen, but the graphics card and such.

I would definitely buy a 13" uMBP, even with the 9400m, so long as it had a FW800 and a bit higher proc speed, like 2.66Ghz or 2.93Ghz. Might be beyond the thermal limits of the size though.

They can do away with the superdrive maybe? Optical discs, who uses those anyway?

Or they can do away with the 9400m, leaving only a dedicated gpu?

Nah, neither of those sound like something Apple would do.

They clearly said they want to "bring all the macbook pro features to macbook" in october 08, right?

However I do want to see a black aluminum or black polycarbonate again, that'd be really cool =)

Although I'd love to be able to purchase an nVidia powered BlackBook, I really doubt this will happen. Apple isn't going to step backwards with their plans. They know that consumers would be pretty confused to see a 3 year old product put back on the shelves...especially after it was discontinued. It's pretty obvious that Apple is sprinting away from anything "poly-carbonate" because of it's structural weaknesses. God knows how much money they've had to spend to fix the defects in them.

Ewwwwwwwww, nooooooooo! Who here remembers the last time Apple painted a laptop? Didn't work out so well then, hence the hard anodized aluminum they've been using since 2003.

You did not understand what I wrote. Apple doesn't use traditional anodizing, they use powder coating. Powder coating is different from paint, and also different from traditional anodizing.

I think it would be awesome if they did come out with black versions. I would prefer that they anodize the aluminum unibodies though. Man they would look nice!

They did the opposite of what I originally had guessed.

This looks amazing! Someone should send this to Apple.

I really think that this rendering looks amazing. I have the unibody white MacBook and it's an awesome Mac, I could have gotten the 13' MacBook Pro but instead I went with the white one, I haven't regretted it...
This picture looks amazing, they really should bring back the black MacBook, I'd buy this... if Apple saw this maybe they would make a unibody black MacBook. :)

Two comments here.

First of, I LOVE the polycarbonate MacBook. I prefer it's looks, I like how it seems to run cooler, (not physically, but since the poly doesn't conduct heat as well, it feels cooler to the touch. Some recent reviews proves it's as much as a 20F difference in spots.) Mostly aesthetics though, I PREFER it to the Aluminum. Black I don't care for, but I know lots of people that do.

Another thing is, what happened to Bondi Blue? I mean come on that was Steve's legacy when he came back, colorful computers! It changed the computer world, I mean we went from beige boring boxes, to all sorts of colors, designs, gimmicks. I would still buy the white MacBook even if it came in a million colors, but hey, my girlfriend would love a blue one, there's gotta be a million college aged girls who would love a pink one, the black one will be popular. It just seems like it's not very "Apple" to offer such a limited option in design. But, then again, I'm sure it keeps the price down. Being unibody however, might make it easy to paint. Hmmm.
