AI “support” is planned obsolescence and the “justification” for price increases.
I just want a good keyboard or keyboard choices. And a good browser.

Macrumors to release more annoying posts like this later this year! Quick, tell me about all the features expected in the MacBook Ultra one more time. I need at least one of those per week.

Waiting to see the new iMac, mini amd home hub. Would also like to have cellular connectivity on the redesigned MacBook Pro/Ultra. Hopefully the iMac will still have bright colors. Also have been waiting for the foldable iPhone for a very long time. Will be good to finally see the product.

I think it's a new feature, and sure, it's going to cost more because it needs RAM. The cool part about Apple Intelligence up to now is that you can turn it completely off and it won't take up any disk space. You don't need to use it, so how can it be planned obsolescence?

If you want the keyboard and a good browser, you can get that now..... well, if you like Apple laptop keyboards.

So if you were gunning to get a base model M5 Macbook Pro soon - word on the street is wait. It’s price will drop when the M6 is released.

Regarding the Apple TV: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 137 times, shame on me."
I bit the bullet and grabbed a third gen at the previous price. Looking at what's rumoured for the next one, I use ethernet, so wifi doesn't matter, and I rarely use Siri other than when searching for a particular show/movie, so don't care much for the more personalised version, and for what it does I don't see the A17 making that much difference over the A15 in the current model.

I wouldn't mind updating my 13" M1 MBP to a 14", but my wallet keeps telling me to dream on.

Worse still, buy an iPhone 16 pro advertised for Apple Intelligence to then find out you miss out on most of what eventually comes to pass. They saw fit to advertise before they knew what it would need.

Same sort of applies to Apple Watch owners who spent good money to discover they're high and dry much sooner than expected.

The caring for the customer side of Apple seems to be leaning more and more bottom line lately.
⬆️ That's me, unfortunately. 😏

Regardless of what new models come out, my main concern is that they ship enough of them to keep up with the demand.

Right now there’s a 12 week wait for a Mac Studio.

I don't care what hardware they release this year.

Barring an accident, my M2 MBA and M1 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB got at least another 3 years before I even think of updating.

And with the price jumps? Even less so.

Hopefully we won't see an arbitrary, BS cutoff for OS updates. Wouldn't be the first time tho...

Apple has really dropped the ball on getting the M5 upgrades into their desktops. And now we’ve got rumors about M6 chip before a single desktop has the M5. And worse, the rumor of the M6 is that it is a gap chip before the next big chip (the M7). I’m hear for the jokes that Mac Studio with M5 is a skip because M6 is right around the corner and then that is a skip because there won’t be a M6 Max, and that everyone needs to wait for Mac Studio with M7 Max chip because that is the one you want to buy.
