I highly doubt Apple would do that. It represents a small financial reward in return for a potential huge hit to their image if it got out that they were doing that. And with a zero chance the box was previously returned by another customer.

Very smart.

I wonder if they plan to re-open South Florida stores anytime soon? Everything else is open, yet they've kept the stores closed.
So basically the same thing Best Buy has been doing now for two years?
Late to the party as usual, eh Apple?
I think their supply chain is broken when I need to put a credit card in front of them before they issue an order to BEGIN production by a Chinese manufacturer. Do they even have a STOCK to sell from other than discontinued (refurbished) products?
They kinda need to reopen the stores for this to work......
Sure. If the item is in stock and they do this in your area. They also offer same day delivery in 2 hour time frames via courier for $9.
Apple has a long way to go to catch up with Amazon and Walmart. I recently ordered new Mini, elected to pay $8 for "faster shipping" and it's still going to take nearly 4 weeks to ship to me (from China). I think their supply chain is broken when I need to put a credit card in front of them before they issue an order to BEGIN production by a Chinese manufacturer. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE their products but what seems to be important to them (color?) is not the same as I.
Using retail stores implies that their channel will stock a product for fast delivery. As it his now, I have begun to look for products coming directly from China and accepting their longer delivery time over direct purchases from Manufacturers because they CAN'T deliver.
Doubt me? Try configuring/ordering a system from Apple and just witness the wait times before you finalize a purchase.
You are correct in that everyone’s experience will differ, but the experience also differs by product it seems.Everyone's experience will differ, of course; but I ordered a custom-build 13" MacBook Pro on 27 May 2020 and it was delivered to my home in the UK on 3 June. That included a couple of days going round a finance approval loop. Processing the order in China took from 29 May to 31 May, then there was a departure scan from the manufacturing facility on 1 June at 3am. The package then went from Shanghai to South Korea, Anchorage, Cologne and finally to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex, UK, from where it was delivered to me on the morning of 3 June. There's actually an extra day in there - the China/South Korea element of the journey is the other side of the International Date Line - the package left South Korea on 1 June and arrived in Anchorage on 31 May.

Not true. Apple retail stores do resell returns so long as the box appears unopened.Even with this change you still have a 0% chance
Last I checked, Best Buy is doing better than ever. People thinking they are on the verge of filing for bankruptcy are ignorant to the market and adoptions made.Damn. I guess my Apple shares will never be worth as much as Best Buy’s.
Tell me, have they declared bankruptcy yet?
