My point is it doesn't matter how it happened or what slight of hand was at play to make it happen it happened. Like it or not, moan why it wasn't, and present arguments against the case, it happened. Now, people may be looking for a legitimate case of the first sustainable world's first trillion dollar company and good for them but let's not pretend something that happened didn't happen because, well I guess we can't gloat about that.

It absolutely matters. Unless you think it’s ok to recognize cheaters and frauds for their “accomplishments”.

That is hard to believe! Where did they get their statistics? From 1000 people visiting Apple store! I’m not that impressed! It is really p me off

Or keep on moaning to you get the result you're happy with then Yaah!

Sounds like you're the one moaning because you're unhappy Apple is going to be the first to hit a trillion. Surprised you didn't bring up the Dutch East India Company as the worlds first to hit a trillion (if one adjusted their value to present dollars) even though they haven't existed for over 200 years.

My example came from 2007, not 200 years ago, and wasn't adjusted for eleven years so I guess if it was adjusted it would be more than a trillion dollars is worth now. I'm not unhappy Apple were in the running to be the first trillion dollar company I'm unhappy that people think that they still could be.

Whew! I thought this is was one of those Tide Pod challenges that idiots are doing nowadays

"3,900 executives, directors, and securities analysts"...that explains it. They wish their company could make money hand-over-fist by selling mediocre product at profit margins most companies can only dream of.
Yes. Apple products are all mediocre. I can think of no explanation for Apple’s runaway success other than that their millions and millions of customers must all be deluded.

Yep, the executives of Apple are to be admired for giving bonuses to their accountants and lawyers for figuring out ways not to pay taxes in the country they are based in. They receive all the massive benefits of living in the United States but they don't want to pay taxes that fund those benefits and services. And of course those executives report that will increase corporate profits and then expect bonuses for themselves.

Sour grapes never helped anyone. Negativity will damage your soul. Desperately wishing for Apple’s demise will only cause you more pain.

Well it does matter unless you condone cheating. Another sports analogy -- probably more apropos that the previous Barry Bonds one. Rosie Ruiz won the women's category of the Boston Marathon in 1980. A few days later it was discovered she didn't run the entire course. IIRC she only ran the last mile. So while she did cross the finish line, she didn't do it according to the rules. And while the Boston Globe the day after that Patriot's Day still proclaims her the Women's winner in the record books she is not. She is persona non grata because she cheated.

Apples has a strong heritage because of Steve Jobs. But they are admired because of the exceptional products that they manufacture and the customer service that represents the products.

OK into the weeds here, this is fun don't get me wrong, Rosie Ruiz was stripped of her title, she no-longer held it after being found out. Dodgy business practices aside has anyone definitively said "sorry PetroChina, you are no-longer the World's first trillion dollar company, we acknowledge that day was a mistake and it shall be stricken from our records"? If not it still stands.

sounds almost as if you really believed that!

I certainly do. As well as others who support Apple behind my sentiments as stated. It's a direct reflection because of their success as Company today.

Yes. Just do a Google search and you'll find lots of latter day mea culpas and chuckles from investors laughing at these pump and dump artists that sold the story to media outlets. But you are free to believe what you like and if you want to go with the PetroChina story, have at it. The record books will show something else, probably Apple. I mean it's pure math.

I am free to believe what I like, all I did was report on something that actually happened, yet it seems some people are all worked-up wanting to believe something that may or may not come to pass. Why I don't know, what it justifies in their believes and purchase decisions who knows. I hope they're happy when they finally get the only news they want to hear.

Hat-tip to Mr. Cook!

People ultimately vote with their wallets.

Manufacturing and selling almost 600K iPhones a day (on average), speaks volumes.

A paradoxical modern day phenomenon. Despite making less products with less features and less value than the competition - Apple continues to thrive more than ever. Such is their loyalty rating.

What other companies could survive that. Let alone revel in it?

Should we admire in awe or is the pinnacle of success peaking?

Instead, blindly lavish praise and shower them with more purchases so they can become even more powerful and even more arrogant. Reward them by knocking out Samsung so they have practically a monopoly on the mobile market.

Don't worry, they will be kind and "look out for the users", as they say they do.

This is pretty dumb because exposure counts a lot. I can think of plenty of companies I admire more than Apple, but they might be small, local businesses - like the guy who hand-makes the best shoes for me ever. Compared to him Apple is like a slutty acquaintance. The bootmaker I consider a true artisan.

This story isn't about customers admiring a company. It is magazine editors of Fortune magazine. They admire Apple the most.

Only thing I have to say is why should I care about what those magazine editors think.

So does their evasion of taxes, slave labor, planned obsolescence....

Nope. Only to the people who've made their life's mission to rag on Apple everyday. And, certainly not many of the 217 million people who bought phones from Apple last year!

It's great watching the few that get frothed up with a case of the shakes attempting to deflect every time Apple receives even a tiny bit of good news. Something you can count on, like the Earth turning into the Sun's rays every morning.
