The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ASCI) today released its latest results on U.S. consumer satisfaction in the personal computer industry, with Apple topping the charts for the eighth consecutive year and setting a new company high for ratings.
Apple's record of customer satisfaction preeminence in the personal computer industry continues unabated in 2011, as the company adds another point to its already exceptional score. At 87 (+1%), Apple outdistances its nearest competitor by 9 points.

"In the eight years that Apple has led the PC industry in customer satisfaction, its stock price has increased by 2,300%," remarks Claes Fornell, founder of the ACSI and author of The Satisfied Customer: Winners and Losers in the Battle for Buyer Preference. "Apple's winning combination of innovation and product diversification--including spinning off technologies into entirely new directions--has kept the company consistently at the leading edge."
Apple's score of 87 rose by one point over last year's score of 86 that had been its previous record high in the survey. This marks the third straight year that Apple has held a nine-point lead over its nearest competitor in the industry.

They should really include some of the larger botique PC manufacturers in this poll. It would be a lot closer.

Apple are not only superior products that are bought by superior people they also have a superior customer service and reliability experience.

I love :apple::apple::apple:

Ugh. It sickens me that I didn't buy like 5,000 shares ten years ago. I'd be living on an island in the Pacific right about now.

Superior people.

Tony

Apple is by far the most popular brand with high net worth individuals

Despite a deep deep global recession Apple has grown and grown and has sold high end kit like they were tins of beans so the people with money who have weathered the recession have Apple as the brand of choice, the sales figures say it all

Superior people financially yes

yea, overpriced hardware manufactured buy $0.80 per hour sweatshop chinese labor.

Says the guy in debt, I bet...

I have no debt thank you unless you include a mortgage in which case the same applies to 99% of people who own a property

I organise and manage exhibitions for a living and have a sideline in motorsport which brings in steady money too so luckily have weathered the recession and can treat myself to Apple kit

Come on, every company on the list would use Chinese labour, add the likes of Sony and Panasonic into the mix as they rely on Foxconn too

The idea that every gadget on the market is manufactured on campus at the tech company's American factories is laughable, every company on that list uses chinese labour to keep cost down, don't be so high and mighty

oh I see, yes I would agree with you

Can't compare though

If they sell 1000 units a year and 900 customers are satisfied that would make their approval rating higher than Apple that sell millions in a year

I have never heard of this company

sorry.... what do you mean by larger botique PC manufacturers?

I meant BOUTIQUE (spelled it wrong).

Velocity Micro, Falcoln NW, Digital Storm, Maingear, Origin, Puget PC - even Voodoo and Alienware even though they were acquired by HP and Dell but probably still operate autonomously.

All of these company probably score higher than 87% in most customer satisfaction surveys out there. It's not strictly a fair comparison given the relative size of Apple vs these makers, but STRICTLY in terms of customer satisfaction they certainly would score as high if not higher.

Tony

Love them übermenschen.

Must be great to be a superior being.

Look at the stats of the Top 2

Deepest recession in 70 years

Apple (with the more expensive products)- Going from strength to strength, selling more high end products than ever

HP - Forced out of the business

Apple do aim at the rich and high achievers and it is paying off spectacularly
