For those unable to find where they defined 'admired'.

As we have in the past, Fortune collaborated with our partner Korn Ferry on this survey of corporate reputations. We began with a universe of about 1,500 candidates: the 1,000 largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue, along with non-U.S. companies in Fortune’s Global 500 database that have revenues of $10 billion or more. We winnowed the assortment to the highest-revenue companies in each industry, a total of 670 in 30 countries. The top-rated companies were picked from that pool of 670; the executives who voted work at the companies in that group.

To determine the best-regarded companies in 52 industries, Korn Ferry asked executives, directors, and analysts to rate enterprises in their own industry on nine criteria, from investment value and quality of management and products to social responsibility and ability to attract talent. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to be listed.

Results were not published in the following categories due to insufficient response rates: Cable and Satellite Providers, Petroleum Refining, Pipelines and U.S. Energy.

To select our 50 All-Stars, Korn Ferry asked 3,820 executives, directors, and securities analysts who had responded to the industry surveys to select the 10 companies they admired most. They chose from a list made up of the companies that ranked in the top 25% in last year’s surveys, plus those that finished in the top 20% of their industry. Anyone could vote for any company in any industry.

The difference in the voting rolls explains why some results can seem at odds with each other. For example, Lockheed Martin fell off the All-Star list this year but ranked No. 1 within the aerospace and defense category when votes from only those in that industry were counted.

I 100% agree, they'd be my top 3, but sadly saving the world doesn't seem that admirable to these experts compared to phones and computers according to this list.
According to a post online, executives at the aforementioned companies rate themselves and their industry peers on the following dimensions:
  1. Quality of Management and Leadership
  2. Quality of Products and Services
  3. Innovativeness
  4. Community Responsibility
  5. Wise Use of Company Assets
  6. Effectiveness in Running a Global Business
  7. Value as a Long-Term Investment
  8. Soundness of Financial Position
  9. Ability to Attract and Retain Talent
So it's not just a matter of public perception in the here-and-now. Also, Moderna and BioNTech are not even eligible for this list because their revenues are nowhere near high enough to make the Fortune 1000 list (although folks are saying Moderna could make $16 billion from the vaccine - their revenue in 2019 was "only" $60 million).

SURPRISE!🍎💪 not really..wonder which company was #1 15 years ago. Sorry I didn’t read the whole article. Meanwhile Mark Zukerberg’s Facebook rank #1 overrated..it’s true. Hey Mark if you’re read this congratulations you finally BEAT Apple on something😆

I'll read article later..... just wanted to know who's on the list for Least Admired.

Reading the list and attributes Pfizer should have easily made the top 10. Let's be honest though this list is pretty pointless at best.

Damn... This thread is full of negativity Lol. It’s amazing that Apple is as successful as they are with such negative comments...

Anyway, this is well deserved. They’re not perfect, but they’re damn good.
