Honestly, the kind of music isn't for me.

But I love their showmanship and all the girls are just super pretty.

in a promotional event on Wednesday, Apple set up a pop-up studio inside the new store where visitors could listen to an exclusive version of NewJean's hit song "OMG" recorded in spatial audio.
Honestly, this is going to be a huge hit. Haha. That’s a great idea.

Isn’t K-Pop pretty much a remake of the 1990s Boys Bands?
Ehh... I feel that would be a somewhat demeaning viewpoint. Another country's culture and music is not entirely a mimicry of the US.

I do feel a lot of the same energy coming from it, however.

Well, I’m going to be there right when it opens. It’s interesting how the opening of the 4th store (Jamsil) did not require any reservations for the visit, but this one is despite the COVID-19 restrictions easing further. I’m guessing Apple is expecting tons of visitors because it’s opening in on the early Friday evening, not morning on a weekday?

Old-school K-Pop in the 1990s borrowed heavily from early 90s boy bands (think less N*SYNC, more New Kids On The Block) but geared towards a Korean audience. And when Western pop music in the 2000s veered towards pop-punk, emo, etc., Korean pop continued producing boy bands and girl groups, over and over again.

So it's less of a remake, and more the exact same formula refined endlessly for... well, close to 30 years now. ✌

Yup. Beatles on Ed Sullivan.... Elvis.... every generation's got their version of it. Complaining about it is about as useful as yelling at clouds.

I Think they are all under 18 ! One is 14 years old ….. some Comments are a bit borderline

They are.

Some western guys have terrible manners and fetishes especially when they travel to Asia.

For us legally minded people...we only have posters of Black Pink.

From a business perspective it's good to see Apple making a targeted push into Korea, although I remain disappointed that Apple's official presence in Indonesia remains exactly zilch. Indonesia is not even remotely as wealthy a country as Korea or Japan, sure, but it is still the fourth-most-populous country on Earth, and has several large modern cities--surely there are enough people there to support at least a basic official presence. As is, Apple.com directs Indonesian shoppers to 3rd party stores that are usually selling last year's models at this year's prices, which is an absolute embarrassment.
