    Hi,

I have a first generation Apple TV. When i first got it a few years ago i did the hack to unlock the USB etc i reset the factory settings as i preferred to use it the way it was intended to be used. I now don't sync it, and just use it as a streaming device. My question is:

Is it possible to hack my apple tv to unlock the USB to enable an EYE TV USB to be plugged in to it to enable me to watch freeview channels?

The Apple TV 1 doesn't have enough power to properly work with EyeTV's.

Given that the process is not socketed you have your work cut out for you. You also have to consider if the motherboard will even support a different processor once you have is soldered to the logic board. The Apple TV also doesn't have the drivers or software needed for the EyeTV

If you wanna use EyeTV, best bet is to get a Mac Mini and go that route.
