i have discovered I have an issue with my Apple TV 3 that it won't load anything from my computer. It runs very slow doing anything. I have the latest update. iTunes is updated. I have reset the Network settings. Restarted numerous times including iTunes. Tried to do a full restore but it fails all the time. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Has Apple finally decided to force people to buy the newest Apple TV?

Apple never bricks devices. Not to the "force" you to buy anything. That would be bad for business.

Anyways... I have had that issue in the past. My ATV 3 just would not update not restore via iTunes. What I ended up doing was wipe it and set up as new with my iPhone. Haven't had a problem since.

I have two Apple TV3's and they both still work fine, so nobody is trying to force me to buy a new one. :) If you're using wifi, can you try connecting it to your computer with ethernet? That might provide some clue as to what the problem is.

I eventually got it to restore. Works better now. Failed numerous times over two days before that trying to update.
