Hi!
I have a question, and it might sound stupid to some of you… but I have an LG TV that supports Dolby Vision.
But, as with most TVs it comes with different display settings (like «games”, “sport”, “standard”, “cinema”, etc).
What is the recommended setting when using the Apple TV with Dolby Vision?
The “screen calibration” tool in the Apple TV settings doesn’t work when DV is enabled, so I don’t know.
I always used the “cinema” mode on my TV, but I get a feeling that it might be too yellow/warm when combined with DV on Apple TV.
Is it ok to go with “standard” on the TV and let the Apple TV DV do its job? Or should I enable “cinema mode” on the TV as well?

Just chose what you feel looks best, what looks good for one doesn’t necessarily mean it will look good for another.
The recommended settings for the ATV4K however are 4K SDR with Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate enabled.

I assume it will vary from one make of TV to another but my Sony changes as required so I leave it set on "standard" for live TV viewing. I'm watching Ad Astra on Amazon at the moment, which is in HD, and the TV has changed to "cinema". If I watch a DV film the TV will change to Dolby Vision". Gonzo's suggestion is a good one. That's how I have my ATV4K set.

True, each TV is different. My Sony Bravia has Cinema, Standard, Vivid, etc. for anything but DV. But when the TV detects DV it changes the options To Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision Dark, and Custom.

a tricky matter indeed. I've had a cx for about a year now and still tweak the settings a tad. I never use cinema mode for any reason because it's too darn mushy for me. I only use expert dark and standard is the go to mode for me. I was looking at "Hellbound" on Netflix and thought I'd do some tinkering.
Settings:
Old Light-100
Contrast-95-100
Brightness-50
Sharpness-20
Color-55
Tint-0
Color Temp-W1

Additional Controls
Dynamic Contrast and Color-Medium
Color Gamut-Wide
Super Resolution-Low
Peak Brightness-High

I also have Gamma set to Low because Oleds are not really bright. All AI stuff is off except AI Sound Pro.

In Picture Options
Real Cinema, Motion Eye Care and True Motion are all off.
Black Level-Auto

When a movie is in Dolby Vision there are only a few tweaks you can do because DV takes control. For me, standard mode/expert dark mode is best with some tweaks in DV but I like a little punch and cinema mode makes me gag, lol, too murky. You shouldn't have to tweak lots. Heck, hope this was not too long and tiresome.
