I'm setting up my Apple TV 4K

I have a TV without HDR but it is 4K

Its connected correctly and both the TV and the Apple TV are confirming 4K.

I have Prometheus in my iTunes Movie Library which has the 4K HDR badge.

When I stream this, the Apple TV only plays in back in HD not 4K.

Whats the reason for this?

Are the 4K HDR movies only that? i.e. not just available in 4K without the HDR?

Thanks

Dan

Many people have reported that the issue is with that movie specifically.
4K works just fine without HDR.

I think thats the only film I have in my library which is currently 4K, guess I better buy another one.

Thanks for the reply :)

I should also mention;
There is a bug that makes 4K movies play back at 1080p if "Quick Start" is turned off.

Quick start was on, I turned it off to test and the movie won't play at all with it off. Weird.

Same problem here. New Transformers is the same. It’s definitely having a few teething problems this 4K stuff
