So I'm having a weird issue with my Apple TV 4K since I updated to TvOS 13.3.

I like to use Home Sharing through iTunes on my mac to stream my old dvd's that I ripped to my computer. I've never had a problem with anything until the recent upgrade. Now, whenever I resume a movie, fast forward, or rewind it, the sound not play and will resume approximately 1 minute later. This sound delay continues throughout the movie. If I start the movie over from the beginning....no problem. If I use a streaming service (like Netflix, Prime or even from the iTunes store), no problem. I don't get this issues with the sound. It's only with content on my local network.

I tried a different mac (my laptop, as opposed to my home iMac)....same issue happens. I thought it might be my wired network, so I switched the Apple Tv 4k to Wifi....same issue. I tried out my Apple TV 2 in another room...issue doesn't happen. Works like it should. I don't have lip sync on, I've changed sound settings, reset to factory settings....I've tried everything.....not sure what the problem is.

Is anyone else having this issue? Or know of a solution?

Thanks!

Yikes....if I get an AppleTV, one of the uses for it would be streaming shows from my Tivo I’ve stored back to my tv, so this ain’t great 😕

Related - I've had audio lag for a month or so that I just can't figure out. It happens over both my soundbar and when paired with AirPods Pro. I've tried to re-calibrate the sound using the option in the menu but nothing has fixed my issue so far.

Is the Apple TV physically connected to the soundbar using an HDMI cable? Problem occurs when connecting the Apple TV directly to the TV and using the TV speakers?

Apple TV is directly connected to the TV - soundbar is connected via optical audio. However, this issue also occurs when using Bluetooth audio - so I doubt it has to do with this physical connection.

I just wanted to confirm that it doesn't happen with a physical connection.

You are not along in experiencing this issue with Bluetooth audio. This is one reason my friends have resorted to wired headphone to night time listening.

Exact same setup here, and there is an audio lag while listening via bluetooth (AirPods Pro) in Prime Video. It seems to be better (but not perfect) if "match frame rate is disabled". But when this option is disabled, it seems to affect Netflix and ATV+. kind of a mess.... Do you guys think it is software related? Can it be fixed?

How are you proposing to do this? TiVo's AppleTV app, promised, in 2020, is nowhere to be found.

I had the same issue, I found out my non-"Smart" soundbar (not internet connected), still gets software updates.

I downloaded the updates from its manufacuring (this case Vizio) onto a USB drive and plug it in the soundbar and it updated. This seemed to fix the audio/video sync issue.
