Apple TV AirPlay in a shared Home

Hi all,
Recently updated my Apple TV to 11.4. The Apple ID that is logged into it is my personal one, and that Apple ID is part of a shared Apple Home (the Home App). I'm not the creator of the shared home.
Once updated, the Apple TV asks what room it is in (in order for it to show up in the home app), however none of the rooms (or the shared home entirely) shows up, instead suggesting to create a new home.
I don't want to do this, I just want my Apple TV to be added to the shared home that my Apple ID has been invited to.
Is this a bug? Should I reach out to Apple?

Tell the owner of the main Apple ID to create the home and rooms in the app on his iPhone so you can add it to the correct room.

The rooms have already been created on his phone, and I even have editing permissions. None of the rooms in the home show up on the aTV, it acts like my home app isn't even set up

Just reset. Still only has suggestions to create new rooms (in a new home). Off to Apple bug reporting I go I guess.
