Apple TV and FrontRow

Hi Guys,

I had a look around in the forum, but could not find what I,m looking for. But I'm absolutely sure someone out there has the answer to my question! 😉

Is it really necessary to have movies in the iTunes library to stream/synchronize them with the Apple TV?
What about all the other movies I can watch on my iMAC in FrontRow? Is it correct that they can't be seen via the ATV?

They have to be in iTunes and they have to be in MP4 format.

Yes - handbreak will convert most DVDs to iTunes compatible files.
