Apple TV and Macbook Pro

Im just wondering,i can play movies from iTunes on my Macbook Pro but i can't play any other apps like Youtube !!

OS X 10.9.2

Is this a question or a statement?
You can use the built in youtube app on the Apple TV to watch videos.
Another solution is to do an extended display and drag safari/youtube onto the TV screen.
Or you can mirror your desktop onto the Apple TV and watch it that way.

Thanks for the reply,its a question actually,i can only play through iTunes, i can't mirror since my Macbook is Mid 2010.
But i haven't tried the extended display, i don't know how that works exactly, and there is no Youtube app in our region.
 
To AirPlay YouTube from Mac, without Screen Mirroring, take Safari and ClickToFlash plugin. Details you will find in this very forum.
