Apple TV and no sound

Hi
I have just bought an Apple TV and am trying to connect it to my Samsung LE27T51B tv. I bought a HDMI to DVI cable to attach the two and I can view my music and photos but there is no sound. Do i need to buy a sound cable as well and if so what sort? any ideas.. sorry for being dim. I asked these questions in the Apple store but they were confident the cable i bought would be enough to get it going.

Yes, you need either an optical cable or RCA stereo cable. DVI does not have provision for audio, thus you lose it with your HDMI to DVI cable.
