Hi all,

I'll start by apologizing if this is in the wrong area, but figured it to be a good start.

I have a large (older) 40" Panasonic display that the previous homeowner left in our house, to which I moved to my office and have an Apple TV plugged into. Problem: The Panasonic display is NOT a TV and DOES NOT have speakers.

My question is: Does anyone even run a set up like this anymore with all of the new equipment out there, and if so, what would my speaker options really be? I'm having a bear of a time figuring it out without spending $300 on a sound bar for a useless display just because it has Optical Audio out.

Additionally, is it really as simple as plugging the O/A cable in the Apple TV to the sound source?

All help is appreciated!

Best options are using the TV's optical audio out, or the Apple TV's Bluetooth, or an Airport Express for digital or analogue audio out.
