Apple TV and YouTube

Anyone know how to log in to YouTube on an Apple TV3? I tried my google/youtube user name and password. No go. Then I tried it with the application-specific password and still it will not connect. I also tried both ways using my Apple TV wired and wireless. Still won't work. Anyone have any suggestions? I just got the Apple TV three days ago. Everything is update-to-date as well and all the other apps are working fine.

you have to use your google account. usernames are not supported for youtube logins anymore

or whatever email you have set up to sign into youtube account with

I did that. I used my gmail username and my gmail password. I also used the username with an application-specific password and that did not work either.

Figured it out. I had to sign in with the original email address that I set up for YouTube, not my gmail address, which I set up after YouTube and Google merged.
