If Jobs hadn’t sold Pixar…

Pixar's movies take YEARS to get to the screen. Next time you watch a Pixar flick, look for the 'Production Babies' part of the credits. Some movies have 30 or more kids names listed. They don't pump that many kids out in weeks. Pixar movies are so good because they take their time making them. It's pretty funny that they will also often put items in their movies from other projects they are working on, or are in development. They even occasionally use older movie easter eggs in the form of movie posters on character walls, and distance shots of those characters, or even sometimes in silhouettes or shadows. Some of those 'sneak peeks' have caused controversy over when they might show up in a real movie.

Also job's likely didn't sell Pixar (He actually DID, oops), I think that happened long after he had died?

Jobs sold Pixar to Disney and became the biggest shareholder for Disney. He was alive when Pixar was sold.

Now that you mention the Disney thing, I DO remember it. I thought it an odd fit at the time, but Disney seems to be vacuuming up a lot of studios. Pixar competed with Disney's mostly farmed out animation studio and reportedly pissed off their staff. Pixar farms out a lot of their production too apparently, but Disney dumped on their existing animators at one point. Sad... I mean, the older Disney animation is primitive by today's standards, but ground breaking for the time, and the plots were the main driver. *shrug*

So much of today's animation is done in Korea and other countries. It's so sad. American animators have a door slammed in their faces. *sigh*

I was afraid that Pixar would be dismantled and the people would leave. With the issues with Lassiter, I feared that Pixar would die. Did steve sell out for the money realizing he was dying? Tragic. How did Pixar management react to the sale?

Maybe it’s just me, but why is it that an every single animated film I’ve seen lately, the character‘s eyes are completely disproportionate to real life Eye size on a head?

For the life of me I don’t understand why Apple doesn’t acquire this company.

They have John Lasseter and the biggest talent that left woke “me too” Disney.

It’s a no fu**ing brainer!!

The reason the characters look like those done in big films is because it employs the same animators from those big films.

Skydance has been picking up heavy hitters - John Lasseter is the head of Skydance Animation, which is also why he's been bringing friends along - Alan Menken is composing their next film, Spellbound, and John Ratzenberger has a part in this movie.

(it's also possibly why Apple made the deal to handle distribution of both films).
They have John Lasseter? Then I might actually pay for a month of Apple TV to see this. Lasseter is the animation GOAT.

It's really a shame that Disney strong-arms Pixar into making all those lame sequels and spin-offs of the original work Pixar did, so Disney can milk this cash cow for all it's worth.

Watching this movie right now, have to say the animation doesn’t feel right - it might be pretty to look at but something feels very off, characters are very stiff yet floating off the ground without any background immersion almost as if they’re Memoji. (extremely noticeable on the cat).
I somehow found Stuart Little 3 the other day, and the animation was so weird, I couldn't watch it.

I was under the impression that when he sold Pixar to Disney he became Disney’s largest shareholder.
And when he died, his widow became Disney's single largest shareholder. She has since divested below the mandatory "substantial holding" disclosure point though, so we don't know how many shares she still holds, just that it is below the 5% disclosure threshold.

IMO this looks incredibly cookie cutter.
Sure it's not my demo and I get that, but even then it seems like there is absolutely nothing in this that could make me watch it. Even free wouldn't entice me.
Bah Humbug...!

First Thought: The Cat looks like Ghibli cat from Kiki. The Luck city looks like Inside Out control center. I see a lot of references there.. not very original. Thanks. Next :)

Looks good, now create more original content..they’re not really competing with Netflix or Amazon with so little shows..hence the low subscriber count.
