I was eleven that year, and the biggest event for me was that my bike was stolen from the bike rack at school, along with two other bikes, and yes, it was locked. :( It would be a year before I got another bike (we didn't have much money).
Bummer. It would have been cool if Bob Marley wrote a song about it. 🚬

I’m really looking forward to this. 1971 was an incredible year for music...possibly my favorite. Only challenged by 1973. There’s a great book about 1971 called “Never A Dull Moment:1971 The Year That Rock Music Exploded”. I wonder if it was the inspiration for this show.

Apple TV+ today announced "1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything," described as an immersive docuseries that will explore the musicians and soundtracks that shaped the culture and politics of 1971. The eight-part docuseries will premiere May 21 on Apple TV+ and hails from Universal Music Group's Mercury Studios and On The Corner Films.

Want! January 1971 here. :)

Just watched the first couple episodes... I'm totally loving this. So far, I feel like they're capturing the music that was out there at the time (vs. the current "Classic Rock" station stuff... which may/may not be what was actually on the radio at the time). Granted, I was only a toddler in 1971... but I remember the music on my parent's home/car radios back in early 70's :) I think this series (so far) is really good.

If anyone that's older than I (and has feedback on what the series is covering)... feel free to chime in / retort!
