So as we all know, the Super Bowl was yesterday. There were a few ways to watch it, but it was air'ed ultimately by CBS.

So here in lies my question/concern. I'm currently subscribed to Apple TV CBS All Access through the Apple TV channels. Yesterday at about 15 minutes prior to kick off I fired up my Apple TV, navigate to the CBS all access channel in the tv app, scroll down to the live game and click it. It was to launch in the NFL app.. okay weird.. So the NFL app freezes and then I decide to go back to the Apple TV app. Now CBS is saying subscribe to all access and get a free 7 day trial.

I look under settings > iCloud> subscriptions, my All Access doesn't expire until the 19th. Go back to the TV app, and I subscribe anyway, nothing happens.

Ultimately, I used the NFL app and was able to watch for free. However, it seems that the Apple TV channels experience was just complete crap.

Anyone else experience anything like this? It seems like anytime there's a live game the CBS tv channel goes to crap. However, the NFL app worked gloriously.

We cut cable last week and watched it for free on the CBS Sports app, no issues.
It basically seems like the Apple TV channel for CBS goes to crap, but it seems to be on apple's end.. The CBS sports app doesn't go through apple, the stream comes straight from CBS.

I have Xfinity internet, so I have a very basic TV package included. I tried using the CBS Sports app in the Seattle area. It routinely froze, crashed on my ATV 4K. I switched over to my Firestick 4K that I use for Xfinity Stream. Yeah, it's a beta. CBS and Xfinity just suck.

Not related to the question really, but just want to mention that you can watch local stuff with an antenna. With NextGen (ATSC 3.0) becoming common, you'll get 1080p and possibly 4k down the road.

Definitely worth it in my opinion.
