From what I've seen so far AppleTV+ is a pretty dire offering and has very little to offer to the more mature customer.

I think most of the negative press and criticism come from critics who expect Apple to take a side in the issues they're exploring in their shows and preach like Netflix does.

They're showing nuance and dealing with social issues maturely. The Morning Show treats accused men as individuals that have their own truths and/or perspectives. Dickinson promotes feminism but at the same time, paying respect to traditional family values. Truth Be Told bridges the gap in race relations and treats its characters—good and bad—as people who are not defined by the color of their skin or affiliation, even if that affiliation is dangerous (especially for a black woman like Poppy).

Critics are not getting the echo chamber shows they thought Apple would provide. Apple has balls to portray that not everything is black and white; that things are complex, and I respect them for that.

What have you seen? Snoopy? Helpsters? Ghostwriter? Yeah - that would explain it I guess. Watch literally any other show and you will find offerings for "mature customer."

This is EXACTLY it - you hit the nail on the head. There were reviewers who bashed Bradley Jackson's character in TMS for being "humanist" - i.e., seeing something from both sides. That's the sorry state of media and journalism now unfortunately. The media feels the need to stoke division, very plain to see.

Apple and comedy will be too PC to be funny.

Yup, definitely not anything like for example South Park's "Board Girls" ( https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2019/11/14/south-park-transgender-athletes-board-girls-family-guy/ ).

Why do people keep going to the tired "too PC" trope for Apple TV+ when it has clearly been demonstrated by current content that isn't the case? It is almost like there is a list of "Apple bashing" statements for MR trolls to use that just never gets updated. That's unfair because the list has recently been updated with "Threadripper rules".

Well, let me know if the SJW crowd posts really-really angry follow-ups of ANY Apple TV+ show like the above Pink News article... ;) I bet there aren't any articles like the above.

At any rate, I'm stoked for this, because ATV+ has been great and It's Always Sunny is amazing.

You think Apple’s planning for TV+ only extended to 1 month? You don’t think they have planned their content pipe sufficiently to ensure what you describe above doesn’t happen...at least not after one month?

I am well aware that Apple is a very smart company with management that knows more about this than you are I do. I was commenting on Apple changing strategy a little bit. I am also aware that Apple has amongst the best corporate governance on the planet. So you can can your schtick about my limited understanding of what Apple is doing.

They released all episodes at once for their non-marquee series (Dickinson, Ghostwriter, etc.). My assumption is that this is not considered to be in the same league as See, The Morning Show, For All Mankind, Servant, and so on.

They haven’t changed their strategy, from the beginning they have tried different kind of release strategies and try to find what kind of release time users prefer. All the dickinson episodes also came day one

Well to each his own but seen nothing to make me drop my Netflix Prime or Sky satellite subscriptions.

You don’t have to drop anything. It’s not either or.
You have to call a halt to spending at some point and already paying for three subscriptions and not being enamoured with Apple's current line up then 3 is where I'm stopping.

This isn't true at all. In the Ghostwriter featurette, the producer talked about featuring 10 books and included footage for Frankenstein and what I believe to be Sherlock Holmes, but none of those episodes were released. I wonder what happened.

They did not change strategies. Dickinson, Little America and Mythic Quest are all considered by Apple as comedies. They seem to be releasing all episodes for comedies at once.
