Thinking about getting my wife an Apple TV for Christmas. She likes to watch a couple shows on the CW, we don't get that station but she can watch the shows on her iPad without any kind of logon through either their app or website (not sure which she uses). It doesn't look like CW works with Chromecast or Amazon Fire Stick and I don't see an Apple TV app. Just curious if she would be able to watch it on Apple TV using some kind of screen mirroring. And if so would the quality be decent.

Or if someone knows of a cheaper way to do it that'd be great. I'd like for her to be able to watch the shows on the TV but buying an Apple TV seems like more of a present for me than her and she'll know that. :p

For channels that don't have an Apple TV app, I sometimes use the iOS app and then airplay the content to the Apple TV… Although this isn't always an option with in every content providers iOS app, but nine times out of 10 it is viable .

I AirPlay using my iPhone to watch The Flash & Arrow, for some reason it only seems to work for me via mirroring.
Whether that's because I'm in the UK I don't know, but the PQ is rather excellent so no complaints.
