I am a member of D23 as a matter of fact, not that that should be a measuring stick. I am done - you are trying to peddle a subjective opinion as objective fact. That just doesn't work in real life.

Thanks for your effortless replies as a Disney fanboy who dislikes Disney+ because it's too childish. That sort of sounds like an oxymoron.

I think "quality" is being defined very loose here. Apple's shows look great, but they fail to really get people to talk about it outside of Apple niche circles. They really need to develop content that gets people to continue trending it.

Apple has been in it for… half a year.

Yeah, Disney+ immediately had a show that had people talking, but that was mainly because of a baby version of a character from the 1970s. Apple is doing entirely original content here.

Game of Thrones didn't happen within half a year of HBO launching; it happened forty years after HBO's founding.

Let's take a glance at Netflix on what probably classifies as less quality shows yet has people talking about it:
- Exotic Joe: look at all the memes, jokes, and headlines about it.

If you mean Tiger King: yeah, it has people talking, but in a way people talk about trash. I don't think Apple is interested in cringe reality TV.

- Money Heist: probably one of the most overrated IMO but highly popular Spanish shows out there. Trends a lot globally, and people love it.
- Stranger Things: what if you took out the 80s nostalgia? Would it still be "good"?

I've never heard of Money Heist and it certainly isn't talked about in my timeline. Stranger Things, yeah, especially the first two seasons.

Yeah, that's why they call it "Star Wars fanboys". Are they Disney fanboys? No.

Errr. This is how Disney+ is marketed:

As you can see, Disney as in the animation/fairy tale brand is just one among several. Star Wars absolutely plays a big role. Baby Yoda is arguably the most memeable part of Disney+ so far.

Maybe not in North America, but definitely in some European countries and Latin America.

Star Wars only fans who dislike Disney itself will always just be Star Wars fans. But that wasn't really my point.

@Ar40 says they are a Disney fanboy but lambasts the service because it's too childish or a waste of his time. He then admits he is a park fanboy. The parks themselves are very family oriented (read: childish). So how can you be a Disney park fanboy but complain that the content is overly childish?

I'm in Europe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah.

Honestly, I've never been to a Disney park, nor am I a Star Wars fan.

The parks are not childish. The only park with a larger concentration of child/family rides is Magic Kingdom with Fantasyland. The other sections of Magic Kingdom are not "childish." Neither are the other parks in Disney World - Epcot is geared to adults, Hollywood Studios is geared to adults, Animal Kingdom is like a zoo on steroids - which, last I checked, zoos are enjoyed by all ages.

Why do I even bother, honestly?

I can tell you why you bother. It's because you lost track of what the basis of this conversation is about, and you are selectively responding to comments that are irrelevant to the topic at hand. The basis is that you claim you're a Disney fanboy but lambast the service because it's too childish (your word, not mine) or a waste of your time time. I don't know why you keep trying to defend yourself as a Disney fanboy, yet find Disney+ content too childish.

Applying your flawed logic, Disney+ isn't childish either. Nat Geo has something for all ages including adults. Marvel is for all ages including adults. Star Wars is for all ages including adults. Pixar is for all ages including adults. Ok, Disney has more kids content than the other brands, but it has something for everyone. It's the same reasons as your paltry parks breakdown.

This simply makes you a hypocrite which might be the underlying real reason you keep replying.
