Hello,

I'm looking to buy an Apple TV after months of consideration. The chromecast has finally made me realise I need to purchase something for my tv. (Actually - is this even a good idea seeing as an update may be coming?)

There are numerous Apple TV's advertised on ebay as brand new, for £80 (I'm UK based). e.g.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-APPLE...ternet_TV_Media_Streamers&hash=item4171600151

Can anyone see any issues with this? Is it an outdated version or something? It seems a little too good to be true.

Thanks

Is there any reason for it being only £80 on Amazon and Ebay but £99 on Apple.com? Does anybody know please? It seems a little concerning.

If you're concerned, buy from Apple. I would not hesitate to buy from Amazon personally, but do what's comfortable.

I've figured it's still Apple TV 3rd Gen, but not the revised version from March 2013, rather the version from 2012. Frankly there appears to be no difference and it's worth the £20 saving!

Amazon is fine as long as it's from Amazon and not a shady third party seller. Don't forget about Apple refurbs as well.
